Jackson Healy is trying to get his life back together. He divorced his wife, he's got a new apartment and a new lease on life.
He still can't stop thinking about Holland March.

Healy tries to get March to take him on as a P.I. trainee.
Unfortunately for him, Holland March is not particularly responsive to the idea.
Fortunately for him, March doesn't really have a choice, especially with all these intimidation attempts he's been getting.Together, they have to comb through March's mountain of unfinished cases to find the one sticking a shiv-sized thorn in their side. That's not entirely a metaphor.

Jackson Healy is relatively new to the jealous husband routine, and following one's wife to a dive bar conveniently positioned near a two-star motel may be considered poor relationship etiquette.
But he's on a collision course, and there's not much he can do about that now. An object in motion will stay in motion and all that.However, this object in motion is not expecting his wife to get pissy with him for walking in on her new conquest, and he's expecting the blowjob proposal from said conquest even less.
