Summary
There's something like a scuffle coming through his earpiece. A high pitched yelp breaks through the muffled sounds followed closely by the tumbling of heavy equipment. Jungkook goes silent, eyes blown wide as he listens intently to Seokjin's end of the transmission.
"P-Pink?"
There's static and then—
"Hello, 'Bun.' It's been a while."
That's not Seokjin. Jungkook exhales shakily. No he knows this voice... this is—
"No- why are you there?" Jungkook takes a step back, a horrifying realization striking him. "Where is Pink?!"
The laughter that comes in response is airy and light. Dripping with something that makes Jungkook's skin crawl. It's familiar and unconsciously his hands ball into tight fists.
"I think you have something I want. Care for a trade?"

"I guess," Jungkook pauses momentarily to inhale a deep, bracing breath, "I would just want you to come to my work events and laugh at my jokes and don't correct people if they imply that we're doing it."

Jungkook can feel Seokjin’s interest pique at his slightly elevated heart rate and the hard rise and fall of his chest. He tries not to think too hard about it as Seokjin carefully sifts through his mind, tries not to think about himself in place of the anime girl in the video, legs bent backwards as thick black tentacles thrust gently into him.
From the way Seokjin’s chuckling echoes through the base of his skull, he’s failed horribly.

The thing is Jungkook does want Seokjin’s number. If at the very least, he would love to get to know more about him, become his friend even. He wants to know what things make his coworker smile so big that his eyes crinkle into crescents. Jungkook would love to find out the reasons he furrows his brow or what cologne he wears because he always smells so damn good. Does he love dogs? Has he always wanted to be an accountant?
These are things he wants to know, but how does Jungkook approach an Adonis such as Seokjin. Perhaps pining from afar is the only thing that’ll happen because he’s too chicken shit to ask.
