Your voice shakes as you stare up at the massive beast. “M- my, you’re quite large aren’t you? Big eyes, big snout, big…” A gulp as you try to swallow around the hard lump of panic still nestled in your throat. “Teeth.”
It cocks its head to the side and lets out a huff that sounds suspiciously like a laugh. The bear’s nose twitches once before it gives its head another shake. A current of shimmering golden energy cascades over its body, radiating from the tip of its nose. Beneath the rippling tide of magic, you watch as the bear’s form shifts, fur receding and bones rearranging, until a large elf stands in its place.
“So you’re the one that’s been eating my food, wearing my clothes,” he rumbles, his voice like the thunder that heralds a coming storm. “Sleeping in my bed.”

Summary
Dr. Melissa King spent years in the shadows of others, devoting her early to late twenty’s being the primary caregiver for her sister Becca. Once Becca showed that she was more independent and ready to be on her own, Mel found herself in a new world where she was able to create her own life, but facing hardships when she met him.
Dr. Frank Langdon is a recovering addict who faced rehab and divorce, and is under the impression that the only thing going for him is his career. Carrying bottled up emotions from his addiction and the consequences he endured, he unknowingly holds a fear that he didn’t understand he had until he met her.
While Mel and Frank are best friends and often times their peers question if it’s something more, they share more in common than most realize. It takes a couple strained and toxic relationships, traumatic experiences, sentimental moments, for them to learn that there is such a thing as soulmates.
Something neither one believed in.
