Jayce pinches the bridge of his nose, and sighs, and pushes through the nerves. “You know how if I think about space, I panic?”
“Yes,” Viktor says, nodding. “I am aware.”
“And you know how if you think about microbes, you panic?” Jayce prods.

When Viktor blinks himself awake one morning with a distinct sense of wrongness he attributes it first to the immediate awareness that he is in Jayce's bedroom. In Jayce's bed. He knows exactly the contents of his desk and how the paintings are hung on his walls. And he knows for certain the rich scent of Jayce filling his lungs.
It takes him an additional minute after waking to realise where the sense of wrongness actually comes from.
When he stumbles to the mirror, it feels like he might be looking through it. Into the living room. Into some other part of the apartment. Because his mind simply cannot process what he's seeing otherwise.
The face staring back at him isn't his own. It's Jayce's.

"Yeah, but my car's Check Engine light came on last night when I was on the way home from the grocery store."
Mel hummed sympathetically. "Is it going to be expensive?"
"No, it was the stupid O2 sensor. They didn't even charge me, just reset the onboard computer."
"So…?"
Jayce made some sort of noise in the back of his throat. "The mechanic helping me had his sleeves rolled up almost to his elbows."
"Ohhhhh," Mel said in sudden understanding.

Summary
Jayce thrashes in his sheets, sweaty and frustrated. The tab is still right there in his history, a couple easy taps away.
It’s kind of like meditation, he rationalizes.
The guided ones from those woowoo YouTube channels never do anything for him, but this gives him a blessed reprieve in a way no medication or breathing exercise or mantra ever has. It could be categorized as mental self care, even.
Jayce groans. He would be stupid to believe that. Stomach churning with guilt, he unlocks his phone and easily navigates to the tab anyways. One of his favorites is already pulled up on Master V’s profile.
Jayce finds an unexpected connection to his new coworker.
