my god is this a fantastic slytherin hermione fic. something i’ve sat with the longer i’m in this fandom is how hard it is to write slytherin. snake politics is really fascinating but very easy to mess up. while i think the changeling has one of the best renditions of the snake pit, this is certainly up there, mostly because the author does an incredible job dissecting the prejudices of the characters. i think it goes a little far at times (sorry but if a character is throwing out unforgiveables and doesn't have dumbledore plot armor like draco malfoy they are for sure getting snitched on and kicked out of school), but most do so it’s not hard to give it a pass.
literally who cares about that shit, though. hermione. hermione! oh my god is she so well done. the character dynamics are what elevates this fic, and that starts and ends with her. seriously one of my favorite renditions of hermione across any story i’ve read.
if the author finishes this fic i will actually freak out
