Summary
Kim Moongyu was victim number four in a series of killings that have seemingly no connection, yet they all died the same way: throat slashed, needle marks all over their body, and drained of blood. However, Moongyu's crime scene uncovers something new, something that was strange and occult. Detectives Kim Namjoon and Min Yoongi know, however, that it wasn't just the "occult" that was involved. It was time to "call the kid."
That kid was Kim Taehyung, co-founder of Stigma Investigations, an agency for hire specializing in paranormal and occult activities. And also, a witch.

He knelt onto the ground, one hand on the floor and one hand on his propped up knee. Even getting a closer look it still baffled him. He pointed to the lines. "Circles contain. Lines direct. Symbols inform. Usually."Yoongi cocked his head. "Usually?"

His response wasn't unwarranted, argents were difficult to understand much less contain or kill. Witches that developed their powers alone, left their coven and lived for centuries tended to live in solitude, become hags halfway integrated into the nature they submerge themselves in to get away from politics and outside influences. And they definitely weren't friendly most of the time. Taehyung shuddered. A murderous argent was not going to be anything short of extremely difficult. He hopes he's wrong.

"Keep on your toes tonight, okay? I don't want your pretty face to get stolen and integrated into a hoard."Taehyung shook his head, ash-blond locks falling into his face. "I'm not anything special, a dragon wouldn't be interested in me. You know their taste: gold, jewels, magical artifacts-"
"-and people," Minho finished. "If people are powerful, rare, or pretty enough, dragons will keep them. I've seen it, myself. On display in a fancy cage, locked away securely in their mansion, not allowed to leave the bedroom. Once, I saw someone dead and preserved, stuffed like a trophy. There is no telling what a dragon might do because of their greed. If you are alive and considered a treasure, they will have no issue with kidnapping you and doing what they want."

He was definitely flattered with Jungkook openly staring at him, but he was here to do a job, not to be a collectible on a shelf. He's still a little scared about that, but with Minho's presence, and Baekhyun's equally infatuated expression, Taehyung felt more confident. Get in, get the information he wanted, get out.

He does feel better knowing that he has Minho to look out for him, as well as both of their protection spells, because he certainly wasn't powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with a dragon, even if he was a baby one.

If Jungkook wouldn't help him, he would go elsewhere. He would like to be done with the dragon after this, but then he remembers the bright, almost insane smile that promised otherwise. There will be no shaking the creature loose once he sinks his claws into him.

Yeontan sneezed and jumped off the bed, running out of the room to do who knows what. Sometimes he got the feeling that Yeontan was as exasperated with Taehyung's dramatics as Taehyung felt himself. His son was literally taking on his traits, and Taehyung didn't know how to feel about that.
