Work Text:
On days when he doesn't need to be the one making himself look presentable, Yeonjun gets to sleep in, a rare treat. The morning of the online concert starts slowly, with Yeonjun stretching back out across his mattress before he even bothers to open his eyes, enjoying the hushed noises of the city outside and someone – maybe two someones – in the kitchen.
When he does, Yeonjun grabs his phone and starts dismissing notifications until he reaches one from Changbin. That one, he opens.
It could be the same as any of the other selcas he's gotten every night for the past week: the same angle, the same pillow beneath Changbin's head, the same tilt of his head and soft expression on his face. The color of the shirt is different, the mess of his hair is different, but the caption remains the same: sleep well, I love you.
Changbin is beautiful. Yeonjun could look at the same picture of him every day, especially when he's smiling like that, but on this morning, it hits him differently. He wants something else, something more raw and imperfect. He likes those parts of Changbin too.
He types out you have other good angles, jagiya, runs a quick hand through his hair, and sends a selca back, not even looking at the result of it – he knows he looks good. By the time he's pulled himself out of bed and slid on a shirt, he has a response.
It's another selca, this time at a terrible angle of Changbin making a ridiculous face. Yeonjun's heart feels full to bursting. He laughs with the sheer joy of loving and being loved and knowing it. That's my handsome man, he sends back.
He gets ready slowly, texting back and forth with Changbin as he goes. Halfway through brushing his teeth, Soobin appears behind him.
"Yeonjunnie-hyung, there's a delivery for you."
There shouldn't be; there's nothing Yeonjun has ordered that should be arriving now, but he follows Soobin into the living room anyway. There, perched on the table, is a large flower arrangement.
"It doesn't say who it's from." Kai peers down at a small notecard. Yeonjun snatches it out of his hand.
"You know who it's from, Hueningie," Soobin says. He looks like he's trying to smirk.
The notecard isn't signed, but Soobin is right; they all know who it's from. The card just says, good luck tonight and I love you, but it's the very lack of a signature that makes it obvious who sent it.
"Cute," Kai says. Yeonjun wants to scowl at him, but he can't chase the smile off his face long enough to manage it.
"So cute," Soobin chimes in, the two of them beaming down at Yeonjun like proud parents. It's a little horrifying.
"How long before we have to be downstairs?"
"Fifteen minutes, but manager-hyung will be here in ten." Soobin answers the question Yeonjun really needed an answer to: how long does he have if he wants to call Changbin? He can make coffee while Beomgyu is getting dressed or grab some once they get to the company, which gives him enough time.
"I'll be back out in five," he promises, picking up the flowers and carrying them to his room.
Even though they've both clearly been awake for some time, Changbin's voice is still rough and scratchy when he answers the phone, like these are the first words he's actually spoken.
"Hey, baby," he says.
"I got the flowers." Yeonjun stretches back out across his bed, smiling over at the arrangement. "Thank you."
"I just wish I could be there tonight." Changbin sounds like he genuinely regrets it, like watching them perform to an empty room would be more exciting than whatever they have planned for Chan's birthday.
"I wish anyone could be there." Yeonjun doesn't hold back the bitterness in his voice the way he will later, when he has to tell everyone else that it's going to be great even without a real audience and that MOA will love it. "But especially you, I guess."
Changbin laughs, his delight evident enough that Yeonjun feels warm all over. "You guess," he repeats, still laughing around the words. "It's too late, you already told me you like having me around."
"I really do." There's a part of Yeonjun that hates it, how quickly he's gone from quietly wanting more of Changbin to openly wanting to spend every spare moment with him. The rest of him revels in being allowed to say it, finally, after months of wanting to. "Why aren't you here right now?"
"Because Soobin would have a heart attack if I spent the night there."
"It might be worth it. Not when we have a performance, but maybe next time Odi poops in my room."
"I'll be your tool of revenge any time you want, baby."
"Sexy," Yeonjun says, deadpan. "Keep that one in mind."
"I'll add it to the list."
"You're keeping a list?" It shouldn't be a surprise, certainly shouldn't be a thrill, but Yeonjun smiles up at his ceiling anyway.
"I told you I think about you all the time."
Yeonjun glances at the clock. He has enough time to keep Changbin talking, to keep listening to the warmth of his voice and the sweetness of his words. "Tell me one of the things on the list. But not something sexy, I have go any minute now. Wait, is there anything on there that isn't sexy?"
"Everything about you is sexy, baby," Changbin says, only half-teasing, and then he waits for Yeonjun to laugh. "But yeah, there's stuff that's not just about fucking."
"Tell me one. I need something nice to think about while they make me pretty today."
"I don't know when we'll have the time for it, but I want to take you on a vacation sometime. Not my dorm, not your dorm. Somewhere nice without any of our roommates."
"Somewhere warm," Yeonjun adds, already a little lost in the thought. "I want to be able to see your arms the whole time."
"I thought you said you didn't want it to be sexy."
At that, the front door opens. Yeonjun has to go. "It wasn't. It doesn't matter, I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow?"
"As early as you can get away with. I miss you."
For the third time in a week, Yeonjun wishes he was either more brave or more of a coward. He wishes he was willing to take the risk of spending the night again, or that he was willing to force Soobin to deal with it for him. "What if I wake you up at five?" he asks, trying to lighten the mood.
Changbin responds with nothing but earnestness. "If you want to wake me up at four, you can. My phone rings if you call."
"Are you even going to be asleep at four?"
"Probably. We convinced Chan-hyung to take the night off for his birthday and I have a hot date in the morning, so I need to rest up for it."
Yeonjun closes his eyes, imagining himself for a moment back in Changbin's bed, then stands back up. "Good. I'll call you when I get home."
***
The rest of the day drags, especially when Changbin leaves for the studio and begins texting back at his normal delay while he's working. Yeonjun eats quickly and walks through the stage with everyone one last time and then it's time for hair and makeup.
"Are you nervous?" Taehyun asks.
"I might puke," Beomgyu says from the couch where he's waiting his turn. "Like, I really might."
"Don't," Soobin says, not even bothering to look up from his phone. "Or go now."
Yeonjun is once again grateful that he isn't the one who's supposed to keep everyone in line, but he still steps in, shifting the conversation away from Beomgyu's unsettled stomach before Taehyun turns green. "I'm a little nervous, Taehyun-ah. We've never done this before."
"I'm not nervous." Of course Kai isn't. Sometimes, Yeonjun isn't sure he knows what nervous means. Looking over at him, Yeonjun settles a little bit. He settles even more when the stylist noona pronounces his makeup perfect and they head to the stage.
This kind of concert isn't the same as performing for a crowd. A year and a half of performing for just the staff has weighed on all of them. There's a little bit more connection than usual, though, as comments stream across the monitors at the front of the stage. It's something, a small reward as he tries to lose himself in the performance.
Yeonjun manages to, just barely. It's more like work than performance should be, the same slog it's been for eighteen months, but somewhere along the way, it hits him and he's there, his body in sync with the music and his mind transported.
When the music stops and the lights go out, that feeling vanishes. There's no high left, the way he almost expects. All he wants to do is go home, shower, and fall asleep on the phone with Changbin.
Beomgyu wins rock, paper, scissors for the first shower, so Yeonjun goes to his room and stares at his closet to try to keep himself awake long enough for his turn. As he folds a change of clothes into his bag for the next day, he realizes that Soobin has followed him into his room.
"Are you going over to Changbin-hyung's?" Soobin asks.
"Would you want to know if I was?" Yeonjun doesn't know how to handle this; Soobin may be happy for him, but they both know that no one at the company will be happy if they find out. He doesn't need to try to pick a fight with Soobin about it, though. None of it is Soobin's fault. "Not now. I'm going to take a nap and then go over for a few hours in the morning before he has to go to the studio."
"You could go now."
Yeonjun isn't sure how he's supposed to take that. He knows Soobin isn't going to rat him out to the managers, not for Changbin, but he also knows they're all expected to sleep in their own beds at night. "This feels like a trap, Soobin-ah."
"I'm just saying, if you want to go now, none of us are going to say anything. And manager-hyung said he wasn't going to be here until Tuesday."
That's what this is, then. More of Soobin being supportive, even if he isn't totally sure how. It makes Yeonjun smile. "I know. I could, I guess. Not if I have to wait for you to shower, though."
"Take my turn," Soobin says immediately. "We're not going to have another day off for weeks."
It might even be months, this time of year. There's too much to do. Across the hall, the door to the bathroom opens.
"You're sure?"
"No. Don't get caught, hyung."
"Don't worry so much." Yeonjun reaches a hand up to smooth the wrinkle forming in Soobin's forehead. "It's bad for your skin."
Soobin jerks his head back. "Go shower and get out of here. Or don't shower and just get out of here, I guess."
"Is that why you don't get second dates? I don't know much about dating girls, but I'm pretty sure they like it when you smell good." With that, he ruffles Soobin's hair and slips past him to the bathroom.
Minutes ago, he'd planned for a long, relaxing shower, but Yeonjun moves quickly once he's under the water. It's maybe a faster shower than any he's taken since they finally moved to a place with two bathrooms, focused on getting clean and not on having a moment's peace or soothing his aching muscles.
When he gets back to his room, he slides his airpods in and calls Changbin. There's a moment, in the space between when he places the call and when Changbin answers, where he's suddenly, strangely nervous, but the delight in Changbin's voice takes it away.
"Hey, superstar," he says. In the background, there's music playing and someone laughing too-loudly. "Is it bedtime already?"
"Maybe. Soobin says no one's going to check on us tonight."
"Does that mean you can come over now?" Changbin sounds thrilled. That's enough to make Yeonjun sure of his decision.
"I should probably get dressed first." He has an outfit picked out for the next morning already, but he doesn't want to waste a date outfit on what he's pretty sure is just going to be crashing into Changbin's bed. "But that shouldn't take me too long."
***
Somehow, Yeonjun manages to stay awake for most of the car ride to Changbin's building and all the way into his apartment, where he can take off his mask and bend down for a kiss that isn't anywhere near as quick as he means for it to be.
"Did you wear heels just to come here?" Changbin asks when he finally pulls back.
"They make my legs look good." They also mean that Changbin pouts up at him about the few extra centimeters and that's all the excuse Yeonjun needs to kiss him again.
"Your legs always look good," Changbin says into Yeonjun's chest. "Take them off."
"My legs?" Yeonjun leans a little more heavily against Changbin. "You're going to have to carry me to bed if I do that."
"Your shoes." Laughing softly, Changbin starts to unzip Yeonjun's jacket. "And your jacket."
"I'm pretty sure your roommates are going to mind if you get me naked here." Yeonjun lets Changbin finish helping him out of his jacket and then gets his shoes off. When he's done, they make their way to Changbin's room, Yeonjun leaning against him as much for the solid, steady feel of him as the help supporting his exhausted body.
With the door closed behind them, he strips down to his underwear and crawls under the blankets, but Changbin doesn't follow him immediately. "Changbinnie-yah, what are you doing?"
"Just getting changed. I'm almost ready."
"No clothes, just come here."
"You're not awake enough to fuck, baby." There are a few more muffled noises though and then Changbin's weight settles next to Yeonjun on the bed. "It's not as hot when you snore."
Yeonjun would argue, but he has more important things to focus on. "Come here, I need a pillow."
"You have a pillow." There is an extra one, where there had only been one last week. One that's clearly for Yeonjun.
"I need you." Yeonjun reaches up for Changbin, pulling him down onto the bed and then curling close to him, his head on Changbin's chest. "Much better."
Changbin laughs softly and kisses the top of Yeonjun's head. "I'm glad you're here."
"Sleep now, talk tomorrow." Yeonjun's eyes are already starting to stick together. "Love you."
***
In the morning, Yeonjun wakes up slowly, the series of alarms that he had planned on needing meaningless when they're already together. He wakes up to the warmth of Changbin next to him, to Changbin's hands on his skin, to Changbin's mouth against his; it's exactly as good as he remembered.
"Great date," he says as soon as he's caught his breath. "Ten out of ten."
Changbin runs a hand along Yeonjun's side, stopping to push his thumb against the bite mark he left on Yeonjun's hip, still fresh enough to see. Yeonjun hopes it lasts. "That wasn't the date."
"What's the date, then?"
"A surprise." Changbin kisses Yeonjun softly. "Go get in the shower, I'll be there after I change the sheets."
"You're the perfect man." Yeonjun isn't quite ready to stop kissing Changbin, though. It's too nice, even sweaty and sticky as they are, to be close again.
A few more kisses later, he makes himself get up and go to the shower. By the time Changbin joins him, he's most of the way clean. "Come here," he says, opening his arms. Changbin steps into them and then they're kissing again as the water rinses the last of the soap from Yeonjun's body.
They can't stay like that forever. Yeonjun could get out of the shower, but he doesn't want to leave Changbin. "Give me that," he says when Changbin reaches for the shower puff. "I want to–"
Changbin turns and looks up at him with soft, wide eyes and a smile that could light the room. "Yeah, okay."
Yeonjun has had his dick in Changbin's body and it didn't feel as intimate as this does, carefully scrubbing circles over the entire surface of his skin, washing him clean. He feels almost impossibly tender as he bends down and cleans Changbin's legs, feels it still when he stands and leans in to kiss Changbin's cheek.
"Turn around," he says, grabbing the bottle of shampoo. "I'll get your hair, too."
It's nice, massaging the shampoo into Changbin's scalp and then guiding the water through it to rinse it clean. Changbin keeps making soft, happy noises, pushing his head into Yeonjun's touch. In another life, Yeonjun wonders if they would have already been doing this for years — if they would be doing this every single day.
The reality may not be as good as the fantasy, but the fantasy can't kiss him the way Changbin does: soft and tender, but sturdy enough in Yeonjun's arms to hold him up even when Yeonjun is dizzy from the heat of the shower and the feel of Changbin against him.
“Take your time, I’m going to get set up,” Changbin says when he eventually pulls back on his way out of the shower.
Yeonjun lets himself keep moving slowly, drying off and rubbing lotion into his skin. He pulls on a clean pair of underwear and fixes his hair, making faces at himself in the mirror. It feels a little silly, when Changbin has seen him asleep and when he's just woken up, but he likes to look good and he especially likes to look good for Changbin.
When he opens the door to Changbin's room, the curtains are closed and there are a few candles lit on the nightstand. Changbin's back is to the door as he spreads a blanket over the bed and Yeonjun watches him from the doorway, stupidly happy just to look at him. Changbin turns and smiles, soft and warm, as he looks up at Yeonjun.
"Did you borrow those from Hyunjinnie again?"
"Nope." Changbin holds out his arms and Yeonjun steps into them. "I can romance you all on my own."
Yeonjun laughs and lets Changbin pull him down onto the bed, next to a pile of snacks and Changbin's laptop with the new episode of Show Me the Money waiting for them. "I feel like we're back in high school."
"There are a few differences." Changbin laces their fingers together and then brings Yeonjun's hand to his mouth to kiss it.
"You were a distraction back then, too," Yeonjun admits. He can't see Changbin's face while they're curled together like this, Changbin's back to Yeonjun's chest, but he knows Changbin is smiling.
"Says the man who can't shut up about how wrong the judges – all of whom could rap both of us out of the room, by the way – are when he doesn't agree with them."
"Well, they're villains." Their other crimes had been heinous enough, but those two –
"Junnie," Changbin whines, wriggling a little in Yeonjun's grasp. "I made mistakes. They were right."
"Who said I was talking about you? I'm mad about –"
Before Yeonjun can finish, Changbin twists around and kisses him, again and again. When he pulls away, Yeonjun only makes a soft, needy noise and doesn't continue to try to make his argument.
***
Some time after that, Yeonjun must fall asleep, because he wakes up again in the afternoon without Changbin next to him. He slides out of bed and pulls on a pair of sweatpants and one of Changbin's shirts so that he can find either Changbin or the coffee machine.
Yeonjun finds Changbin first, talking to Chan and Jisung in the living room about something to do with a song they're working on. For a moment, Yeonjun stays in the hallway, watching him. Changbin's joy is beautiful; there's an ease to him that makes it hard for Yeonjun to look away. His smile is even brighter when he looks up and notices Yeonjun standing there.
At first, he doesn't say anything, his attention still mostly on what Chan is saying. That lasts right up until Chan twists his head around, sees Yeonjun, and starts laughing. Changbin's smile doesn't falter, even as he shoves at Chan's shoulder.
"Did you sleep well?" Changbin shifts to make room for Yeonjun next to him on the sofa.
Yeonjun makes a non-committal noise, dropping down into Changbin's lap. "We're going to have to watch that again."
"Whatever you say. Are you hungry? We were about to order lunch."
"I want pork belly." Yeonjun places his hand on Changbin's stomach, squeezing gently to get him to shout. When Jisung and Chan both laugh, Changbin shouts again.
"You're so mean to me," he complains, without any real concern.
Yeonjun leans in and kisses him. "It was funny," he says and when Changbin pouts, he kisses him again, and then a few more times until finally, Changbin relents.
"Maybe. We were getting sushi, anyway." Changbin hands Yeonjun his phone. "Pick out what you want."
Yeonjun does, resting his head against Changbin's shoulder while he scrolls through the menu and leaving it there after, all thoughts of coffee driven from his mind by the promise of food and the warmth of Changbin's body against his. As Changbin returns to his conversation with Chan and Jisung, Yeonjun starts to drift back to sleep.
"Wait," Changbin says, and then he squeezes Yeonjun's arm, snapping him back into the moment. "Babe, can you make that bird noise you do?"
Yeonjun nods and lifts a hand to shield his mouth from Han and Chan's view. If Changbin looks, he'll be able to see, but he's seen Yeonjun look even more foolish than he does when he imitates a chirping bird. He scrunches his mouth up and lets out a series of soft chirps.
"Something like that, right after the verse? Maybe more like –" Changbin sings a few notes that Yeonjun knows he won't be able to get the bird noises to replicate.
"You need to find a different bird for that."
"No performance credit for you, then," Changbin teases.
As if that would ever happen. Still, Yeonjun can sense the opening to push and he takes it. "You'll just have to buy me something pretty when you get paid."
"Anything you want." Changbin's eyes sparkle and heat floods Yeonjun's body. It's the absolute wrong time, but Yeonjun wants.
The knock at the door stops him just in time. "That must be lunch," Chan says, a little too loudly. The moment vanishes, but Changbin's hand stays tight on Yeonjun's waist until they've eaten and it's time for him to leave.
***
It's another ten days before Yeonjun has the time and privacy to push Changbin further. Their schedules are getting tighter as the end of the year looms, so maybe he should be grateful that it's only ten days, but instead he's restless as he waits for Changbin to arrive.
Yeonjun switches out his earrings three times before going back to the same hoops he usually wears and he changes his jeans twice. The sweater, he leaves on. It's the one Changbin bought him for his birthday and if Changbin reacts the way Yeonjun thinks he will – well, it will be good for Yeonjun.
The door buzzes right on time, then it's less than a minute until Changbin is there, in Yeonjun's arms, where he belongs. After a few quick kisses, Changbin takes a step back to take his shoes off.
"You're wearing this again," he says when he steps back into Yeonjun's space, one hand sliding up under the sweater to come to rest on Yeonjun's waist.
"You liked it last time."
"I like that you like it." Changbin tilts his head up just enough to kiss the side of Yeonjun's neck. "I like that you like me."
"I like you so much." Yeonjun tilts his head back, gasping softly when Changbin's teeth graze against his skin. "Come to bed."
In Yeonjun's room, they strip each other out of their clothes – Changbin leaves Yeonjun's sweater on again – and slowly make their way to the bed. "Tell me what you want," Changbin says, pressing a kiss to Yeonjun's jaw.
Yeonjun can't have what he wants most. He wants Changbin pressed tight against him, buried deep inside him, fucking him until his legs are useless– but he has at least three hours of dance practice coming up and so it needs to be the next best thing. "Fingers," he says, reaching behind him for the bottle of lube.
Taking it, Changbin settles between Yeonjun's legs. "I don't have to record until Tuesday," he says, dropping a quick kiss to the inside of Yeonjun's thigh. "So don't be nice, okay?"
There's barely enough time to process that before Changbin's mouth is on Yeonjun's dick and all he can do is swear. He gets one hand tangled in Changbin's hair, tightening his grip until Changbin moans. It feels good and then it feels even better when Changbin slides one finger into him.
His hips jolt upward thoughtlessly, but the noise Changbin makes has him doing it again, more purposeful. Changbin is working faster than he might normally, getting Yeonjun to the edge with every trick he knows – and by now, he knows every trick Yeonjun has.
"Jagiya, please," he says. Changbin adds a second finger, fucking him in earnest, and that's enough to push him over with a shout.
Changbin swallows and sits up, wiping his fingers off on his own thigh.
Yeonjun still hasn't quite caught his breath. "Give me a minute and I'll get you," he says.
"I have a better idea." Changbin's expression is a little hazy as he looks down at Yeonjun. The tip of his tongue darts out to wet his lips and then he moves, pulling Yeonjun's sweater up and over his head but not all the way off. He leaves Yeonjun like that, arms stretched out and held together by the sweater, and then he touches himself.
It isn't long before he's coming, spilling onto Yeonjun with a soft, vulnerable noise that makes Yeonjun never want to him let go. "God, you're beautiful," he says, laying down next to Yeonjun.
"You're so weird." Yeonjun wriggles his arms out of the sweater so he can pull Changbin in for a quick kiss.
"But this is what you like, right?" Changbin runs his fingers through the mess on Yeonjun's stomach, rubbing circles into his skin. "When it's obvious that you're mine?"
Yeonjun grabs his hand and tangles their fingers together. "Don't pretend that you don't."
"I love it." Changbin presses a kiss to the back of Yeonjun's hand. "But what about you?"
"Well, I can't exactly wear it to work, but yes, hyung does a great job of picking out things for me to wear."
Changbin freezes for a moment and then laughs, startled but joyous. "And what else do you want from hyung, hmm?"
Rolling onto his side, Yeonjun kisses Changbin's cheek. "You know how you want me to fuck you while I'm wearing a skirt?"
"Only if you want to."
Changbin really is the sweetest boy. "I want to," Yeonjun assures him. "I just think that you should buy me what you want me to wear when I fuck you."
"You trust me to do that?" Changbin rests his forehead against Yeonjun's, places his free hand on Yeonjun's chest. Yeonjun wants to crawl inside his skin and never leave.
"I want to give you everything you want."
"You already do." Changbin kisses him again. Yeonjun lets himself get lost in it.

A week later, the first package arrives. Yeonjun has the morning off and he's only just dragged himself to the kitchen for coffee when there's a knock on the door.
"Hyung, it's for you!" Beomgyu calls out, much too loudly, and then he's standing in front of Yeonjun with a package in his hands. "What is it?"
"I have no idea." Yeonjun finds a pair of scissors to slice the package open. Inside, there's a card and a small black box.
yj,
one month down, a thousand more to go
this is just the start
❤️
"It's from Changbinnie," he says, smiling down at it. He'll wait until he can call Changbin to open the box. Changbin will like it if he gets to see Yeonjun's face.
"He really makes you happy, doesn't he?" This isn't the kind of question Yeonjun really expects from Beomgyu.
"Yeah," he says, taking a sip of his coffee. "He already did, but this is even better."
"What makes it better?"
"We kiss a lot more." It's a flippant answer, but one that somehow encompasses all the embarrassing emotions Yeonjun feels when he thinks of Changbin. "And we have a group chat with our noonas, that's new. Possibly a mistake, actually."
"You're so boring."
"Only in public." Yeonjun winks dramatically and is rewarded with a groan of misery.
"Hyung, that's so gross."
"You're the one who asked. What did you actually want to know?" Yeonjun settles down onto the couch next to Beomgyu. "Ask hyung."
"I don't know. How did you know? That you wanted to date him and not just –"
"And not just fuck?" Yeonjun stares at Beomgyu until he finally nods. "He slept with someone else. Which, whatever, we were both doing that, but it was someone who could give him things that I couldn't and I realized I didn't want him to even want anyone else."
Beomgyu frowns, thoughtful more than uncomfortable. "So, what, you just told him that?"
Maybe that would have been a better idea. Changbin is the sort of person who responds well to conversations full of emotional honesty, but they aren't always what Yeonjun can offer. "Absolutely not. I just helped him figure it out for himself. Sometimes men need that."
"That makes more sense. Thanks, hyung."
Yeonjun isn't sure how any of that was helpful, but he'd rather call Changbin than try to figure out what Beomgyu really wants to know. "You're welcome? Do you need anything else?"
Beomgyu shakes his head. With Taehyun or Kai, Yeonjun might push, but instead, he stands back up and heads for his room.
When he looks at his phone, there's already a video call coming through from Changbin. "What did you get me?" he asks as he settles down on his bed.
"You haven't opened it yet?"
"Beomgyu was talking to me. I'll open it now." Yeonjun sets his phone into the mount clipped to his nightstand so that he has both hands free. "Ready?"
"Don't get too excited."
"Are you nervous?" Narrowing his eyes, Yeonjun lifts the lid off of the box to reveal a thin chain with a pendant attached, shaped like a small, silver hand holding a green gemstone. "It's so pretty, Changbinnie."
He has to look away from the phone to finish taking the necklace out of the box and put it on. When he looks up again, Changbin is smiling, soft and fond. "I'm glad you like it, jagiya," he says.
"How old are we going to be in a thousand months?"
"A hundred and five," Changbin answers almost without pausing to think of it.
"I can't believe you're already planning to break up with me in my old age." Yeonjun smiles so Changbin knows he's teasing. "What if we live to be a hundred and ten?"
"Not a chance. You'll have traded me in for a younger model first."
"Never. You know I don't like younger men."
Changbin laughs, his head thrown back with delight, and Yeonjun knows even eighty years of that won't be enough to satisfy him.
