Work Text:
For months at that point, had almost everyone been wearing those stupid boxes on their heads. The boxes that turned all the unwanted noice down. The boxes that made the user ignore everyone around them. No matter who it was.
Tweek's boyfriend, Craig Tucker, was one of the many people wearing those boxes. He was one of the first people actually. Convinced by a other kid, Eric Cartman. How Cartman did that was still a mystery to Tweek.
Tweek had tried for over two months to get his boyfriend to remove the box, to start listening to him, to start opening up, to even look at him. But Craig never did. No matter how much Tweek tucked the other boys sleeve, or texted. The box stayed on the others head.
Tweek had given up. There was no point. He just had to wait.
How long would he need to wait? He didn't know. Maybe a day. Maybe a week. Month. Year. Or maybe even a decade. There was no telling.
But Tweek was willing to wait, no matter how long the wait would be.
Well, atleast he was.
Was until the root of his problems came, bringing even more problems...
"He doesn't love you."
Cartman had told the blonde in the boys bathroom.
Tweek had denied those words during that moment. Telling Cartman how amazing of a boyfriend Craig was. And that he still loved Tweek, but was just having a tough time.
Tweek wanted to believe the things he told the other boy, but after the conversation, the more he thought, the more he started believing Cartman's words.
The words didn't leave his mind.
They haunted him.
"He doesn't love you."
"He doesn't love you."
"He doesn't love you."
Tweek kept hearing them over, and over, and over again in his head.
It was driving him insane.
Three weeks he tried denying them. He didn't want to accept them as the truth. He and Craig had been dating for three years at that point, why wouldn't Craig love him? Why would have Craig been with him for so long if he didn't love the blonde?
But as the words 'he doesn't love you.' repeated in his head, he remembered things Craig had once said...
The thing was that the two had gotten together, because they kinda had been forced into it. Students from their school drew pictures of them together, making everyone think they were dating. So they staged a fake breakup to stop the pictures. It hadn't gone like they wanted, so they started pretending to be together, to keep the town happy.
Eventually both of them weren't faking much anymore.
Well, Tweek atleast wasn't. Craig was his everything. He loved him more than anything.
Tweek confessed his feelings one day, Craig said he felt the same way, but maybe the noirette had faked that too?
.
"Dude I'm not gay and neither are you!"
"Now I'll never get any chicks!"
"I can't be something because everyone wants me to be... I have to be myself."
"You'll just have to go be gay with someone else."
.
Were words that Craig had said.
Maybe those were the truth.
Maybe Craig wasn't gay.
Maybe he didn't love Tweek.
Maybe that was why he wore the box.
To hide from the actual truth.
"He doesn't love you."
Tweek had cried out loud one night, the night he finally accepted the 'truth'.
He skipped school for weeks after that.
He stopped calling, and texting Craig. Not wanting to bother him any longer.
Not that the noirette questioned it, he never really answered back in the first place.
Tweek cried himself to sleep every night for three weeks...
Two months later Craig took the box off his head. He felt better.
His friends welcomed him 'back into the life of the living.'
Though Tweek wasn't in school.
Tweek hadn't been in over two months.
He sent a text to Tweek.
No answer.
He called Tweek.
No answer.
He hadn't been online in over two months.
No one had seen him either.
So Craig went over to his house.
His parents forced smiles on their sad faces.
The house was quiet.
But a beautiful picture of the blonde boy was on the table, surrounded by candles and beautiful flowers.....
