Summary
No matter what he did, who he hung out with, be it training with his Master Jingliu or hanging out with his best friend Yingxing, Jing Yuan cannot escape his fate of being a third wheel.
Or Jing Yuan can't hang out with Liubai and Renheng without them flirting in front of him.

"I thought Yingyue-Jun was teaching Yingxing how to wield a sword?" Jingliu asked, confused.
Baiheng threw her head back and laughed, as if the thought of the Vidyadhara High Elder teaching Yingxing something that wouldn't come handy in the bedroom was funny to her. "You know as much as I do that A-Feng sucks at sword fighting. Besides, they get distracted easily when they're together."
"Distracted?"
"You know, they," Baiheng curled her pointer and thumb on her left hand into a circle and thrusted the pointer finger of her opposite hand through it, mimicking the action of sex, "go through their honeymoon phase constantly."

Jing Yuan looked down at the sleeping dragon. Jing Yuan couldn't help but think he looked adorable, curled up in front of the furnace, like one of his cats. "Why does he sleep in front of the furnace everyday? Don't the Vidyadhara treat their High Elder to luxurious beds and pillows?"
"He's always complaining that his bed chambers are cold, so I let him take a nap in front of the furnace as I work. I think Vidyadhara have trouble keeping themselves warm."
"They're definitely lizards," Jing Yuan laughed.
"I'm not a lizard," a sleepy voice grumbled. Dan Feng sat up, a displeased look on his face directed at Jing Yuan. Jing Yuan forgot Dan Feng's displeasure at being called a lizard.
"You woke him up, Jing Yuan," Yingxing sighed mockingly. "Now you must pay the price."
Jing Yuan then remembered; Dan Feng was always in a bad mood when he woke up, even worse when someone else woke him. Jing Yuan remembered hearing about a time a newbie servant came to wake up the High Elder, only to disappear the next day. Apparently Dan Feng reacted so badly, the Vidyadhara servant had self-reincarnated in fear. Of course that was just a story, but Jing Yuan knew that Dan Feng could cause a Vidyadhara to self-reincarnate in fear with just one of his glares.
"I'll buy you some osmanthus cakes," Jing Yuan told the Vidyadhara. Dan Feng's sweet tooth was an open secret within the Vidyadhara race; legend had it Dan Feng's previous incarnation had self-reincarnated due to eating too many pastries.
"Of course that's just a legend," Dan Feng had scoffed when Yingxing asked him about the legend, "no incarnations of mine will reincarnate in ridiculous ways like that."
"How would you like to reincarnate?" Yingxing had teased, "by being fucked by me so hard, you —"
"Shameless!" Dan Feng's face grew as red as his beloved eye-liner.
Oh no, they better not start flirting like Master and Baiheng, Jing Yuan thought.
