Al-Haitham stared at him incredulously. “You want my unrequited love flowers?”
“Yes?” Kaveh flushed red. “Since…since you’re not using them.”
Since you’re not using them—
“What the hell would I be using them for? What the hell are you using them for?”
Al-Haitham has Hanahaki disease and coughs up mourning flowers. Kaveh asks if he can use them for his ascension materials.

ALHAITJAM AND KAVEH ARE BOTH CGARACTERIZED WITH PAINSTAKING DEPTH AND ITS SOOOO OBVIOUS THAT THE AUTHOR OF THIS FIC TRULY TRULY UNDERSTANDS THEIR CHARACTERS 😭😭😭 theres so much agonizing care and complexity in the way they are written goddamn i feel like i just got simultaneously punched in the face and kissed on the forehead
