Identity Theft

Summary:

Clownpierce wore his jester mask with pride. It instilled fear into other Lifesteal members with ease, it made him confident, charismatic even.

But under that mask was a man trying to find where he fit. He hadn’t meant to build a different personality, he was in-fact kind, shy, and emotional. He wasn’t a cold blooded killer like everyone else saw. Well, once he took off that damned mask that is.

So, when a 2v1 battle strikes between him, parrot and spoke, what will he do once his mask is sliced clean off and his real, fragile, identity is revealed?

OR, Clownpierce’s emotional security mask gets taken off in battle, causing a panic attack in front of his enemy’s.

Notes:

I will admit, I’ve been re watching Lifesteal from Clownpierce’s pov and I just finished the first season he’s in. It’s got some funny ideas in my head so LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT A FULL LIFESTEAL FIC

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Clownpierce was not prepared for battle. Really, he wasn’t. He had been minding his own business, moving materials from his personal base to the M.O.B HQ, when Spoke and Parrot jumped him.

All he has on him is his armour, of course, a frankly shit axe, and a bunch of deep slate. He hadn’t expected people around, so he didn’t bother with much fighting gear.

So now here he stood, axe gripped firmly in his hand as he faced off the two enemy’s. They both stood there, grinning at him evilly.

They knew Clown wasn’t in a fighting mood, they knew and they’re still playing dirty. Understandable, Clown would do the exact same.

“I don’t think you’re getting out of this one, Clownpierce.” Spoke snarked, a mischievous tone on his tongue.

Clown winced. He and Spoke were somewhat friends at the beginning, but they both took separate paths.

“Killing an unarmed man? How bold.” He bit back. Well, maybe confirming their idea wasn’t the best plan, but hey, Clown was tired and just wanted to head back to his base.

Parrot laughed. “You would have done the same.” He said, spinning his own axe around teasingly, a show of power.

“Fair… say, let’s make a deal.” Clown would fight tooth and nail to get out of this one. He just wanted to sleep.

Spoke leaned on his sword lazily, showing interest. “I’m listening..”

“You let me go, and no one gets hurt.” His confident demeanour took over easily, like it had plenty before.

His eyes searched for an exit. If he ran he would be able to reach the M.O.B. HQ in about 10 minutes, on the contrary his main base was only a 3 minute walk away. Meaning if he ran, he’d get there much quicker.

But that’d mean the enemy would know where his base was. A sharp laugh cut him from his thoughts.

“Please, Clown. The only one getting hurt is you.” Spoke said, standing to his full height and pointing his netherite sword towards him.

Clown sighed. “I don’t want to fight.”

“Hmmm.” Parrot pondered mockingly, purposefully pissing Clownpierce off more.

“Yeah… too bad.”

With that, Parrot charged.

Realistically, Clown could kill them both ten times over. However, with the huge difference in gear and his fatigue, Clown suspected his first death this season was coming sooner than first thought.

He blocked Parrots first strike with ease, pushing him away and making his move, but before he could take a step in his direction Spoke came up behind him and swung.

Clown turned just in time to block it, this time with a little more difficulty. Clown only had one totem on him, this wasn’t gonna end well he knows.

While attempting to push Spoke back, Parrot gained his footing and charged once more. Clown could only do one thing. While still blocking Spoke he kicked his leg out from behind him, and managed to kick Parrot right in the stomach. A thump sounded from behind him, clearly knocking air out of the bird hybrids lungs.

This act also placed Clown unbalanced, and Spoke knocked him over too. Clown did a little role and ended a few feet away from the pair.

Spoke glanced at Parrot for a sec, while the latter shakily stood up and shook the dizziness from his head.

“You definitely not ready to fight.” Spoke giggled mischievously once he knew Parrot was okay.

Damn, Clown should have used this time to run. But he didn’t, stupidly.

The duo stood over him, as Clown still sat on the ground. A swift kick to the knee caused Spoke to join him on the floor.

Parrot didn’t react right away, facing Spoke. Clown took this time unlike last time to run. Unsteadily pushing himself to his feet and booking it.

A shout was heard from behind him as Clown entered the trees.

It was almost sunset. If he stayed out much longer mobs were soon to spawn. He had to lose the duo before heading to M.O.B HQ.

Speaking of the duo, two sets of footsteps were heard behind him. Clown was doing so good, well until he tripped over a damn root.

H face planted onto the ground. Quickly recovering, he attempted to stand back up, but a foot was placed on his back.

“The Clownpierce, running from a fight? When did you become such a coward.” Parrot spat, putting more pressure onto clowns back.

He switched his axe for a pickaxe of all things. He placed one side under Clown neck and sliced.

Killing him.

The world went black, before a gold and green light flashed before him. He popped a totem. His only totem.

Parrot laughed. “Holy shit, I’ve been waiting to kill you.”

Spoke leaned against a nearby tree, only watching. Almost uninterested, it appeared. Of course when the grand death of the Clownpierce happens he’s uninterested.

Shit, Clown was going to die a coward. Running from a battle he usually could handle with ease.

Parrot took his foot off Clowns back and removed his pickaxe, instead, kicking him in his side so Clown would roll onto his back.

With a groan, he did just that, blinking up at his soon be killer. “I wonder…” Parrot spoke almost softly, Moving his pickaxe to Clowns perfectly crafted mask.

“Don’t you dare.” Clownpierce warned. Spoke finally looked interested, taking his place at Parrots side.

Speaking of, Parrot only smirked, and with another swift moment, Clown felt his protection fall into two pieces.

Parrot immediately backed up, allowing Clownpierce to sit up and touch his face.

No one had ever seen his face before. Hell, even Clown started to forget what he looked like.

“Wow. You’re human.” Spoke joked. Clown blinked up at him through the cracks off his fingers. Tears welling in his eyes.

He couldn’t cry, not in-front of the enemy. It’s a stupid mask, he should feel so overwhelmed.

“I expected more.” Parrot teased, placing his pickaxe under Clowns chin and lifting it up. Clownpierce removed his hands and glared at Parrot.

He.. well. He didn’t know what to feel. So many emotions flooded him at once and he just… didn’t know what to do.

Clown stared up at him, felt the blood start to trickle down his neck. He spat in his face, a final act of defiance.

All parrot did was pull away in disgust.

His cheeks felt wet. Just as he was about to lift his hand up and check—“are you crying?” Spoke asked, confused.

Huh. He was. Clownpierce was crying. In front of his enemy. Oh. Was he this worked up over this?

Clown didn’t understand. He’s felt emotions yes, but this was different. A heavy feeling flooded his chest and Clown felt the urge to hide.

He pulled his knees to his chest, feeling Parrot release his chin. He hid his face and sobbed. Actually sobbed.

Why was he feeling like this? What was happening??

Parrot and Spoke glanced at each other. Cold blooded killer who’s killed dozens; crying over his mask.

Spoke gestured wildly at the sobbing boy and Parrot rolled his eyes. “I’m uh- sorry?” Parrot mumbled.

Clown did not stop.

Don’t get him wrong, Clownpierce was thoroughly embarrassed by this, however, he felt like his entire identity was stolen.

Which.. he didn’t understand. How? Why?

It was an awkward silence, only filled by Clowns cries and sniffles.

“Do I kill him?” Parrot whisper yells to Spoke. Spoke just sighed exasperated. “He’s already crying, leave the guy alone. As funny as it would be.” He whispered back, much more quieter.

“Do we just leave him there?” Parrot asked again. This time, Spoke grabbed his communicator and typed a message.

A communicator allowed you to talk to anyone in a server, privately or publicly.

“What are you doing?” Parrot returned to his normal volume. “Telling PrinceZam the cords.”

Parrot only hummed, looking back at the broken man. Clowns sobs had stopped, but his face was still buried away.

“Kay, he’s coming. Let’s go.” Spoke mumbled, already turning to leave. Parrot nodded and followed, leaving Clown to weep over his stolen identity.

Clownpierce sat there, defeated. His face felt so exposed. He felt like everyone was there, watching him. Even if he was alone in the woods with the fast approaching moon overhead.

Mobs were just starting to spawn when his silence was disturbed.

“Clown…?” A voice spoke behind him. He knew who it was right away.

“Zam.” He mumbled tiredly, voice raw from his much needed crying session. He finally lifted his head and turned it just enough to see him through blurry eyes.

“Oh, Clown.” PrinceZam mumbled sadly, walking up to him and crouching down. He rested a hand gently on Clowns shoulder.

Zam tried to act unfazed by Clowns lack of mask but ClownPierce could still tell. “What’d they do to you?”

Clowns eyes started to blur again. “They broke my mask.” His voice was shaky, he sounded like a child. This was childish, after all.

“How about we get you back to the base, then we will fix your mask, hm?” Zam tried to reason. He wasn’t good in these types of situations. He hoped he said the right thing.

Clown blinked up at him. “No one else can see my face.” He said. It sounded final. Zam hummed. “It’s already dark, no one will see.”

Clown sighed but started to stand up. His limbs were stiff, understandable as he had sat in the same place for an hour at least.

Zam helped him fully up and they began their treck back.

Clown didn’t say anything and Zam didn’t mention it, not minding the silence.

All that clouded Clownpierce’s mind was revenge. Parrot and Spoke will pay. They stole part of him that he had kept locked away for years. They will suffer for what they’ve stolen is more dear to him then his hearts.

Notes:

Id like to think Zam and Clownpierce did some art and crafts to fix his mask afterwards. I’d also like to think Parrot and Spoke both got perma banned by Clownpierce alone.
