Silence that's all there was and as Gibbs was looking around and he could only see Tony and Ziva and he was glad they were OK but he was worried about the others.
Gibbs walks over to them and when the two agents see their boss/friend they immediately hug the man.
“We were worried about you boss,” Tony says.
“I'm OK, what about the others?” Gibbs asks.
“Gibbs” Abbey says coming up to them and she gets pulled into a hug by Gibbs.
“I'm so glad you're OK, Abbey,” Gibbs says.
“We all are” Ziva says and she hugs her friend after Gibbs.
“Do you know how Jimmy and Ducky are?” Tony asks.
“I don't” Abbey replies.
They all look at each other and they hope they're OK as no-one knows how bad the explosion was.
It took 2 hours for the team to find out how Jimmy and Ducky were doing and once they saw them alive they were so happy.
Vance had survived the blast and he was lucky to have not been in the building when it exploded.
The director walks up to Gibbs and the team and finds out who is alive and who is still trapped.
“What do we know?” Vance asks.
“Good to see your alive director,” Tony says.
“You and I,both Agent DiNozzo” Vance says.
“We don't know who caused the explosion or why,” Zive says.
“We don't even know who the target was or how whoever managed to get the bomb in,” Tony says.
Gibbs is looking around and he can't see any sign of his son and he hasn't heard anything about him.
“Where's Mcgee?” Gibbs asks.
Everyone looks at him and they all realize Mcgee must still be in the building and they all go rushing.
In the building Mcgee was unconscious and he was under a lot of rubble.
Gibbs and the team managed to get into the building and they were frantically looking for Mcgee and they could see no sign of him.
Ziva managed to see something and she went to see what it was and to her horror it was Mcgee.
“Over here I've found him” Ziva shouts out.
Everyone comes running and when they hear Ziva.
When they arrive they see that Tim has blood down his face and he is struggling to breath and he is under quite a lot of rubble.
“DiNozzo I want you and Ziva to get most of this rubble off Tim so we can get access to him” Gibbs says giving orders.
“Ducky, I want you or Jimmy to examine him,” Gibbs says to his friend.
“Jethro I don't want to sound negative but me and Mr Palmer won't be able to give Timothy much of an examination” Ducky says.
Gibbs looks at his friend and he knows that he is asking a lot but he feels guilty that his son is in this situation.
“How about a rough examination?” Jimmy asks.
“Well from the looks of it he has got a concussion, leg looks to be broken and I would say he needs to have his chest cracked and that would relieve the pressure on his chest and he would be able to get some air into his lungs” Ducky says.
“What about moving him will that not cause him to go into cardiac arrest?” Tony asks.
“If we're not careful, we really need to have paramedics here so we can have the right equipment to handle the situation if it happens” Jimmy says.
“Ok I'll go and find some paramedics and some firefighters and hopefully with their help we can get Mcgee out safely” Vance says.
20 minutes and Vance is returning with two paramedics and 4 firefighters and they have all come up with a plan to get Mcgee out and hopefully they can get him to the hospital as well.
Gibbs is getting frustrated and he wants to be the one in charge but he needs to let the professionals handle it.
“Have you told Evan yet?” Ducky asks.
“No I haven't and I will tell him when we get to the hospital and know more” Gibbs says.
Gibbs is not only Mcgee's dad but he is also Evan Buck Buckley's dad and he has been since they were 5 and 7 years old.
Gibbs had been going through a lot he had lost Kelly and Shannon 2 years previously and he was in Los Angeles at the time visiting a friend of his who is called G. Callen and he could see the pain his friend was going through so he said to him that he needs to find a purpose in his life and Callen said to him why not look into adopting a child who may be able to help him heal.
Gibbs told his friend that was not an option as he would not replace his daughter and he would not put a child through that as he would not want that child to feel like they are replacing a child who was loved more than them.
Callen understood where Gibbs was coming from and told his friend to think about it.
When Gibbs got back to Washington he got back to work and he had a case where a child was being neglected by their parents who were NAVY and it turned out that case was the one to set Gibbs on the road to going to CPS and starting the process of adoption.
It took 6 months for Gibbs to become approved to be able to adopt as the social worker in charge wasn't sure about Gibbs at first but after a few meetings she was surprised and she appreciated him being honest about his late wife who was killed along with his daughter and he said he doesn't want a child to replace his daughter but to show the child love and protect them and be there for when they achieve something and when they fail and give that unconditional love they are supposed to get.
When Gibbs visited the foster home a blonde little boy ran into his legs and Gibbs looked down and he came face to face with Evan and the boy smiled at him and Gibbs felt a rush of warmth and a few minutes later a boy who looks to be 7 came into the hall and he had brown hair and told Evan Lunch was ready and they both left.
Gibbs asked the social worker who the other boy was and she said that his name was Timothy Mcgee and he was very protective of Evan.
Gibbs is brought out of his thoughts by a screaming sound and it turned out to be Tim who had regained consciousness and he was in pain.
Gibbs runs to him and he tells him that everything will OK and with that the paramedics load Mcgee on to the gurney and they head to the ambulance and Gibbs tells them he is riding with them.
The team watch on and hope that Mcgee will be OK.
