Man is a myth ( you can't escape it)

Summary:

Lando seals his lips by placing the dagger in his mouth.

Oscar stares at her, dumbfounded.

One wrong move and he's a goner.

" I said, don't move. Are you slow in the head?" Lando hisses.

Oscar tries not to gag. Dying with a dagger in his mouth won't be ideal, now would it? Logan would make fun of him to death. Huh? But wouldn't he already be dead—

His breath hitches as she moves the dagger deeper in his mouth.

" Lead me out of here." Lando demands.
_______

Or a Landoscar fic in which Lando is a little bit too sassy and grumpy but Oscar is there for her. Well, mostly.

Notes:

Hello lovely people! How are you?

Chapter Text

Oscar sighs as he rests his head against the broken door.

Bloody hell. So much for an easy mission.

He'll kill Max when he gets back.

He thought he just had to retrieve a gem. No one told him that there would be so much security for a single gem. He sighs again.

He's trying to get up, but there's only so much you can do when you've got a knife stuck in your abdomen. He's stopped the bleeding, but it's still serious. He knows he needs to get help, but he can't risk being found out.

He's messed up enough already. He should've left after he had retrieved the gem, but he couldn't just leave the old man lying there to die, now could he?

Well, said old man was a bait for him and now he's stuck with a knife deep within his left side.

He's contemplating his options when he feels something sharp press against his temple. He doesn't need to turn his head to know what it is.

" Don't move." The voice is oddly high-pitched, and he does move his head to look at the person.

He immediately knows that the man isn't one of Horner's men. He's not wearing the ugly and stupid bull emblem and he knows from experience that just how much Horner loves that stupid emblem and forces his men to wear it.

But the man is oddly feminine-looking? Maybe it's a child? It takes a long amount of staring and a lot of threats from the man that he comes to the conclusion that it's actually a woman.

A woman is pointing a dagger at him.

Now, don't get Oscar wrong. He knows just how capable women are. He's seen them slice their enemy's throats with relative ease.

But he knows how Horner treats women. No woman could survive in his area.

" You—"

The woman seals his lips by placing the dagger in his mouth. One wrong move and he's gone.

" I said don't move. Are you slow in the head?" She hisses.

Oscar stares at her, dumbfounded.

His breath hitches as she moves the dagger deeper in his mouth.

" Lead me out of here." She demands.

Oscar tries not to gag. Dying with a dagger in his mouth won't be ideal. The woman realizes and pulls it out.

" I don't know if you've noticed, eh, but I've got a knife in my abdomen." He says.

Her eyes dart towards his lower body, widening when she notices the wound.

" You need help."

He scoffs. " You don't say."

The sympathy is short-lived, though. Her eyes harden and she demands again. " Tell me the way out."

Oscar sighs. " Only if you help me get out of here."

" What makes you think that I'm gonna let you live?"

Ok. That takes Oscar by surprise. He hadn't expected her to actually want to kill her. He thinks of what to say.

" Then you can stay here forever."

She scoffs. Her gaze lingers on his wound.

" Who do you work for? Pretty sure no one takes a woman under their wing besides Zak." He doesn't say how he knows that.

The woman is looking at him strangely, and he thinks there is also a wariness in her eyes. " What are you talking about? I'm a man."

" What?"

" Why are you talking about women here?"

Because you're obviously a woman. He doesn't say.

" Aren't you a lady?"

" No. Why would you think so?"

Oscar is confused now. If he says something that offends her, she might actually kill him.

" Because you look like one." Oscar has seen his fair share of delicate-looking men, Charles being number one of them ( he'd never say this in front of him though. Oscar values his life very much, thank you.)

The woman scoffs. " Shut up. You're blind."

Now, Oscar is offended. He has the best eyesight out of the whole group, and he can't believe a strange lady pretending to be a man is telling him otherwise.

" Let's make a deal. You tell me the way out, and I'll help you get out, since you obviously can't walk. In return, you don't tell anyone you saw me."

Suspicious. He raises an eyebrow.

" I think we're fair if we remove the last point."

She glares at him. Oscar shrugs. Fine. It's not like he has anything to lose by keeping her presence a secret.

" Can you do something about my wound?"

                       _______________

Turns out she could. After a lot of hissing and yelling, he's officially dagger-free. He didn't even realize it was a dagger. He just had a hunch.

" You owe me one more."

Such a selfish woman.

"Lead the way."

He looks at her, puzzled.

" I'll just tell you the way. You can go on your own." He says drily.

The woman seems troubled. " I— I'm bad at directions. Fuck it. Are you gonna help me or you wanna die?"

Oscar is sure he looks comical right now, but he shrugs it off and gets up.

He's having trouble walking, but at least it's something.

They make it out pretty fast, considering he had killed all of the men guarding it.

He turns back to say something to the woman, but is met with empty space.

He blinks. What the hell?

The woman is gone. Not even a single trace of her.

He swears he had felt her presence behind him the whole time, but now it's like she was never even there.

Wait. Why is he fretting over it so much? It's not his business.

She could've given her name, though.

Well, whatever. He hears footsteps and immediately knows he has to flee. He hisses in pain once again as his wound starts to act up. It's been such a long while since he's got injured like this.

Logan will laugh at him if he dies this way. But won't he be dead? Logan wouldn't laugh then, right?

He curses as the footsteps get closer and gets out of sight.

Count your days, Verstappen.
