“If you think you can out-pun me,” Chat Noir smirked, “you’ve become pea-cocksure.”
Le Paon cricked his neck from side to side. “Oh, I think this is going to be a chaton of fun…”
The Superheroes of Paris’ Legendary Pun War to End All Pun Wars had begun.
“What flowers are peafowl’s favorites? Les pavots!”
The Peafowl wielder laughed. “Where do wealthy cats go for the summer? The family chateau!”
“What sport do peacocks play? Ping- paon!”
“Not a bad story there, son. They should call you Le Chat Noir-ateur!”
“Oh, yeah? Well-”
Watching the two men duke it out in wordplay, eventually struggling to continue out of sheer laughter, Ladybug groaned. “How long do you think it’ll take them to stop, Mom?”
Mǔ Jī opened her mouth, only for faraway screams to stop that train of thought. Chat and Paon near-instantly sobered.
Ladybug pouted before preparing to grapple away on her yo-yo. “Me and my big mouth…”
Her mother, however, stopped her for a moment. Leaning in close, she whispered, “How about we see if we can turn them on the akuma?”
Even far away, Farfalla was struck with the feeling she was in for a long and vexing night.
