Extra Life: When Fate Was Rewritten

Summary:

Before Narah was the Number One Hero, she was a little girl who refused to look away from suffering.
This is the story of how she saved others — and herself — long before her hero debut.

Orphaned, burdened by forbidden memories, and armed with quirks she should never have touched, Narah carries the fragments of a past life and a dangerous ability to begin again.
This time, she’ll rewrite the ending for everyone.

This is Book 0 (When Fate Was Rewritten) → Narah’s childhood and U.A. school years. A dark coming-of-age: trauma, abuse, growth, and healing — children learning to heal while carrying scars far too heavy for their age, where even the smallest choices ripple across decades.

(This story begins ~16 years before canon MHA.)

Act 1:

The Begining Of Narah’s Journey

My First Life

“Reset buttons are easy to press. Living with the choice isn’t.”

Okay, imagine this.

You’re in the biggest, most important final exam of your life.

Your examiner? Nezu.

The smartest, most insane little gremlin alive. My dad.

And your “final boss”?

The Devil of Japan.

Jep.

Endeavor.

Not a clone from Jin. Not some hero below the Top Ten!

Nope. The freaking number 2 Hero of Japan!

And guess what else? My dad told him,

“Don’t hold back. Even on my daughter. Fight her like you mean it. No holding back.”

Now for the 10 million yen question:

Who of the heros in all of Japan would actually listen to this insanity?

Tick, Tack, Tick, Tack.

Tick, Tack, Tick, Tack.

Ding ding ding!

You guess right.

ENDEAVOR!

The guy who hates me!

So here I am—blistered, puking, and about five seconds from getting roasted alive.

Thanks, Dad. Love you too.

I see Endeavor raises his flames again.

Ready to end me.

But before we continue—

Let's freeze time.

You're probably wondering how I got here.

Fighting multiple pro heroes, including Japan’s walking flamethrower, at my final exam.

To explain this mess… we’ve gotta go back 12 years.

Before the time of my second death.

You hear me.

To my First life.

How everything started.

Alright, quick version:

Blah blah blah — abandoned as a kid.

Blah blah blah — poor orphanage in Germany.

Blah blah blah — tragic childhood.

You know the drill. Great heroes never start with great childhoods.

Not that I minded—I didn’t know anything different.

Anyway.

Age five—bam! My Copycat quirk shows up. I can mimic quirks permanently.

Pretty neat, right? Catch is, I can only hold four at a time. One of each type.

Like Pokémon slots, but way scarier.

So I start experimenting. Copy here, borrow there, see what sticks.

And then—jackpot.

I snag this little gem called Memory Echo.

Suddenly I’m remembering… my past life. Yeah. Isekai trope unlocked.

And how did I die in that first life? Classic. Truck-kun. Overworked driver.

Splat. (Maybe reincarnated, maybe just dumped here for laughs—who knows?)

Oh, and it gets better. I also copied this quirk called Extra Life. From some depressed guy, don’t ask me why.

I mean, who gets sad with a literal Reset Button quirk?!

Basically a cheat code. Reset button for my whole timeline. And honestly?

If that’s not cool, I don’t know what is. Who hasn’t dreamed about redoing their life?

So, me being me, I decide: perfect.

I’ll level up quirks, get stupid strong, and then roll back time to save my favorite characters.

Totally not a fangirl move.

Nope.

Not at all.

Oh, did I forget to mention I am apparently living in My Hero Academia?

My bad.

But back to topic. The plan was flawless… until it wasn’t.

Turns out strong quirks are dangerous. Who knew, right?

So maybe, while messing with this crazy gravity quirk—Spatial Manipulation—I sorta, maybe, accidentally killed myself.

Boom. Dead. Again.

That’s when Extra Life kicked in.

Congrats, Narah—second chance unlocked!

But, uh… there was one little problem.

I never calculated how far back it would send me. Because apparently? I don’t get to choose…

So yeah. New timeline unlocked. Same me. Same insane world. And this time? I’m not planning on dying again.

This is my story and how I rewrote the fate of everyone.

Including mine.
