Giyuu was walking to the Butterfly Mansion, having left the Water Estate a bit ago. He was heading to go visit (and bring home) Tanjiro and the others after their recent mission, which, of course, ended with multiple injuries between their little crew. He wondered often, how on earth does that even happen to them so much?
He didn’t remember when he had gotten close to the kids, it just happened. Suddenly, he was “Giyuu-san” (or the derogatory use of “Dad” or "Mom" used by Inosuke when he says anything parental-like) to a group of teenagers.
He glanced to his left, where Muichiro was staring off into space, walking beside him. He had spent the night at the water estate again, after showing up, dazed and confused, in the rain. Not that Giyuu minded, he had a few Yukatas and such saved, as well as ready room for him, or the other kids, in his home that he had bought after realizing that having Tanjiro meant attracting whoever else was with Tanjiro. He also wondered how Tanjiro had so many friends, and managed to attract them like flies. But he did enjoy having the kids over, they were a lot to deal with, all in all, but they were sort of nice, they made his Estate... livelier and just… better.
Back in the moment, Muichiro was gripping Giyuu’s green and yellow sleeve loosely, using it as a way to stay on track with the man, while also zoning out and staring at the clouds.
“Giyuu-san… what's the name of that bird again…?” Huh, do I know that bird…
Giyuu was used to these questions, and originally, he rarely had an answer. That was until he bought a book so he could memorize some types. He remembered how Muichiro brighted up when he had asked him again, and Giyuu had an answer for him.
“That's a Woodpecker, Muichiro.”
He knew that one, it was near the beginning of the book. He looked around, having been brought back from his thoughts. They were closer to the Mansion than he realised, he had been zoned out for a while, led by muscle memory he supposed.
“Oh, ok… thank you…”
“You're welcome, by the way, we’re almost there."
“Oh, ok.” Muichiro finally looks forward, noticing the gateway where they would turn to enter the property of the Butterfly Mansion.
Giyuu sighs, only a minute or two until he has a happy not zoned out Muichiro next to him. The Tanjiro effect, him and Mitsuri called it, when he conversed with her. It was shocking when Muichrio got used to Tanjiro, and suddenly he was better with his memory and acting more like a kid. Well, he deserves it, Muichiro really did deserve it. Giyuu was proud of him, and how he improved. Anyways, almost past the edge of the fence and-
“TANJIROOOOOO~ HELPPPP! GET OF ME YOU WILD BOARRRR”
There goes my moment of peace, grabbed by a certain yellow boy screaming. Time for me to go figure out what's happening and sort it out. Dang it.
“HHAHAHAahHAHHAHA! Bow to me MINION!”
And also a wild Inosuke. Sigh. Oh well. He finally turns through the gateway, just to see Inosuke clambering all over a dirt covered Zenitsu in the middle of the yard, and of course Tanjiro trying to break them apart. He also noticed Kanao, Aoi, and the caterpillar girl trio, standing to the side, watching the boys do- … whatever this normal thing is for them.
Before suddenly a few calls of,
“Ah! GIYUU-SANNNNNNNNNN!”
Rang out. Damn it.
