Chapter Text
She walks towards the table. All her friends already took their cup, she's the only one left. When she turns around to ask them if this thing is really necessary, none of them are still there.
Great, it's all starting great.
There are different colours, each with its own label. She just has to hope no one switched said labels as a stupid joke. Now which one does she take?
The green ones say "it's complicated". Seems to be the most fitting one. What Miles and her have is complicated. They never actually put a label to it, she's pretty sure they're not official or otherwise he would be calling her his girlfriend in front of everyone, not just his friend.
And to be honest, it's been a while since they "saw" each other. Last time it happened was... a month ago or something. Since then, they were busy when the other was free.
Therefore yes, "it's complicated" seems like the best choice. So she takes a green cup, turns around and tries to find her friends again, and something to fill her cup with.
Until she runs into the last person she was expecting to see there: her situationship, the boy who cant leave her mind and makes her heart beat far too fast for someone with who just she's just been "casual".
And he has a pink cup. Well, seems like he moved on. Maybe the "extra study sessions" weren't really use to study. It's been a month after all, she should have seen it coming.
Fuck her life.
He's slowly regretting accepting to be the sober driver of the group. Or to even coming there. Instead, he could be at home, in his cozy bed watching whatever serie he felt like watching. Maybe he could even be cuddling with Gwen.
Gwen....
Well, he hasn’t really heard from her in a while. He misses her smile and dumb jokes, and the way she always tries to pretend she's not falling asleep.
Maybe he should have made things clear from the start.
Well, anyway, it's not because he's supposed to be sober that he cant drink anything. He can still find some nice mocktails somewhere. And for that he needs a cup. He briefly saw a colour system for said cups earlier, but didnt really stop to look at it, and now's the opportunity.
He quickly looks at each label and now hesitates between two.
Well, it's true he never explicitely called Gwen his girlfriend. So "it's complicated" would fit. But they do a ton of romantic and "couple" things, so maybe it's not the right one to pick.
So "taken" it would be. But again, they're not really official. And his friends could ask him tons of questions about his choice.
Finally, he makes a one. Gwen and he are exclusive, so a "taken" cup is definitly the best choice and will prevent people to flirt with him. Probably.
And he really, really likes her so maybe he can allow himself this one little scandalous fantasy of a loving relationship.
And it's not like Gwen is here anyway, she wont be offended by his choice.
Well that's what he thought until he ran into her thirty minutes later. And she had a green cup in her hand.
Fuck his life.
