Chapter Text
It was raining. Pouring actually. Thunder roared loudly as hard rain fell onto Hitoshi's already soaked hoodie.
He called his mom again while trying the door knob again that still wasn't budging.
“Hi. Sorry, I'm not at the phone at this time. Please leave a voicemail and I'll do my best-”
He groaned. He needed shelter before he got a cold. His jaw hurt before he clamped it shut, his skin prickled all over like a raw piece of chicken and his hair stuck to his face. His fingers clutched his backpack straps tightly in frustration.
Goodness, this was a nightmare.
He looked at the window of the house.
He could break in through it but it didn't seem the greatest idea. No need to try to cause more problems on this already hellish day.
He looked around. He saw the cafe on the corner that he usually visited but he was saving up for a new video game. Hopefully it didn't get to that point. Maybe she was coming soon.
He kept looking and saw the public playground. Under the slide looked pretty dry. Though he would still be out in the cold. He kept looking up and down the streets to find a better option but he couldn't.
If there was one thing Hitoshi hated more than this rain was being an inconvenience. He really didn't want to go there and be a bother but maybe if he could dodge all the questions, get a better hoodie and maybe an umbrella and head back home MAYBE it wouldn't hurt. As unrealistic it sounded dealing with that sounded WAY better than sleeping under a slide. So what did he do?
He marched right to the Aizawa-Yamada’s
· · ─ ·✶· ─ · ·
The march was less determined than he thought.
Multiple he thought to just turn right back around to stand at his porch but the wind was getting worse and thought of him just getting blown away seemed very possible so eventually it had him standing at the door of their house.
Hitoshi gulped. He was so nervous. His teeth clattering didn't help none. Finally he took a deep breath and knocked.
“Just a moment!" A loud voice called from inside the house.
BAIL!
He took a step back.
Why he was bailing, he really didn't know but this so very quickly turned into a very BAD idea.
Yet before he could take another step the door opened to-
He frowned.
“Shinsou?" It was that damned golden boy,
Midoriya. Why was he even here? He barely wanted to acknowledge him right now.
“Shinsou?" A voice called inside. A voice that he liked to hear. Eri ran to the door quickly with the kid's bare feet. She came to the door with a Frozen gown on. He lifted his hand to her hand.
" Um… Oh gosh you're soaked. You can come inside.” Hitoshi huffed. Midoriya moved out of the way and he was let in.
The warm air of the house hit him with such relief he could cry but he wouldn't have the time to do that as Midoriya immediately started asking questions.
He barely listened to him as Eri was leading him somewhere but when he realized it was the couch he shook his head because he didn't want it to get wet. He turned around for see a very concerned Midoriya.
" Um… uh… let me get Aizawa sensei. “ He stammered out. He really didn't like that he was here. He didn't want him blabber mouthing all this to the school. The only reason he came was because he knew they would let it to themselves but he didn't know Izuku but most golden boys he knew couldn't hold a secret to save their life so he imagined Izuku wouldn't be any different.
He wasn't as cold anymore but the hoodie was still wet and he hadn't taken it off yet but he wanted to know if he could really stay here for a bit before he got comfortable.
Aizawa finally walked into the room. He was in casual attire: a long sleeve and baggy pants, a coffee in hand. Shinsou could see worry crease his brows once he saw him.
“Why are you here and not home?” He asked bluntly.
The was silence in the air for a long minute.
He hadn't thought that far.
“Um…I…got locked out. Lost my key.” He came up with quickly.
“Isn't there another parent there?" Aizawa followed smoothly. Shinsou shook his head.
“N-no. She’s at work. She won't be home until late and she's n-not answering the phone." He said, the cold making him stutter. Aizawa looked at him for a long minute. Hitoshi would sweat if he wasn't so cold.
“I won't be long. I just needed to get out of the rain with these wet clothes and maybe an umbrella but I'll bring it back tomorrow.” He spoke again. He needed to down play this as much as possible. He really didn't want the teachers to start to pity him, much less Aizawa though it didn't look like he was.
He watch him close his eyes and inhale.
“Alright. I can throw your clothes into the dryer and let you hang with Midoriya and Eri until it gets done. But I'm not sending you back out there until I have confirmation your parent is home. If need be you can stay here on the couch. You still have your extra clothes, yes?” Hitoshi nodded.
“Alright. There's a bathroom down the hall. First door.” Hitoshi nodded. Aizawa walked back to the kitchen. Hitoshi took this brief moment to look around. The living room was decently big with a couch, coffee table, and a tv in front of it. The walls on this side had shelves filled with pictures. The kitchen on the other side had a counter and a sink on the farthest wall and it curved to the right with an oven with more counters. And on the left it has cabinets and a fridge. He turned to the hallway that he was directed to to see a long hallway which he could only assume included the bathroom and the bedrooms.
Before he stood there too long for people to ask questions he stood up and walked to the bathroom. He took his backpack off and quickly took his soaking wet clothes off. When he put his extra clothes on, which he considered his work out clothes since he was planning to train in them with Aizawa today before he found out during school it was going to rain.
He put his sleeved shirt on and his shorts on. His under clothes and body was a bit wet so it wet his clothes just a bit but it was much preferred over the clothes he was just wearing.
He walked out to see Midoriya playing with Eri with barbie dolls. He looked to the left to see Aizawa washing dishes.
“What do you want me to do with my clothes?" Hitoshi asked.
Aizawa didn't even turn around as he said, “Down the hall. Keep going until you see a curtain. Open it and put your clothes in the washer machine." Hitoshi nodded and did just that. When he walked back into the living room Eri beckoned him to the floor with her and Midoriya.
He did and sat there very awkwardly.
Midoriya turned to him with a proud look as he gestured to the dolls.
“This is Lady Hucklewood. She's very nice-”
" -And rich!” Eri interrupted Midoriya, making him laugh.
" Yes and she's having tea with her best friend, Poppy Wilkinson, while they talk about their husbands.” Midoriya finished.
" Yes, George is such a poopy head. Can't stand him.” She replied, making her Barbie move its head as it spoke. Shinsou laughed. She looked so serious about it. He looked over to Midoriya as he opened his mouth then shut it before opening it again.
“Um… you should play with us." He asked.
“Oh, I think Lady Hucklewood has enough on her plate already with that one. " Shinsou countered. He really didn't want to play, especially not with him.
" Nooo. She's really good with the lady so she has a lot of friends. Please.” Eri pleaded which made him sigh. Maybe… he could deal with Midoriya for now.
