Varian dismissively raised a brow, brushing the tall male’s hand off his shoulder, his patience for the thief’s immaturity wearing thin. “Why do you care? It’s not like it was important.” He turned his gaze away. “Besides, the only time you’ve ever been invested in my personal life was when you wanted to bicker about it to feel better about yourself.”
Hugo stiffened, a sour taste left in his mouth at how true the statement was. “That’s not true.”

A tragedy in three acts, this is very DIFFERENT, and since I wanted to read something different, I had to write it myself. It turned out darker than my original draft. I like things thrillingly romantic and crushingly sad. Brace yourself for twists and turns. Consider this a rock opera.

Summary
Hugo and Varian are, regrettably, left alone with the caravan, Nuru and Yong leaving to get supplies and have some much needed down time, but Hugo is not interested in actually trying to look after the caravan, so, he drags an unwilling Varian into the forest to check out the place they’ve parked.
They find a stick.
Doesn’t seem to matter.
