Summary
On the worst of the bad days they start out just like the easier ones. They’re deceptive like that, lulling him into a false sense of security before one thing sets him off and he spirals. There is no real trigger for these days unlike the other ones, these days are just bad simply to be bad. His senses are heightened to the point of overwhelming overstimulation; his brain is foggy but coherent enough to send him down a dark and a very deep tunnel if given the chance; his fingers twitch and itch to grab something, anything that could be used to inflict harm on himself; despite his half working mind for everything else, it works 100% just for paranoia to the point he has to keep checking behind himself because the feeling of eyes on his back is achingly uncomfortable. These days also tend to include bouts of an inability to speak that always come out of nowhere. It’s rather disconcerting to be asked a question and yet when you open your mouth to answer absolutely nothing comes out.
Or: Dazai is used to bad days. He’s used to pain, and the weakness, and the anxiety that comes with them. But they’re getting easier to manage.

Summary
It took Chuuya approximately two hours to calm down enough to head home. Two hours of walking the streets of Yokohama. Two hours of trying to make sense of the stupid fight they had (because it was. It was so stupid looking back on it. Dazai said something flippant, Chuuya took offense, they argued, Dazai off-handedly said that maybe he should move out, Chuuya panicked and yelled at him and then ended up leaving first). Two hours before he realized he hadn't told Dazai he was coming back.
Or: There are still things about each other that Dazai and Chuuya don't know, and learning them isn't always an easy feat.

Summary
The threat only weighed down the heavy atmosphere more. Dazai hasn't necessarily killed since he made that promise to Odasaku, but not killing was never a specific part of the promise to begin with. Out of every act of violence Odasaku would condone, protecting Atsushi wouldn't even need to be discussed.
Or: An unknown ability user is causing havoc within the Port Mafia, so they request the help of the ADA. Dazai and Atsushi go to investigate, but instead get caught up in the ability that’s taken out so many. Akutagawa and Chuuya are not amused.

It was as if ice were injected into his veins. The painful chill soothed the burning ache and sobered his clouded mind. Frozen limbs were heavy, eyelids much the same as he could only blink slowly now. And yet he could feel as his fingers and toes froze, could practically see as they turned purple-black. The sensation didn't differ all that much from one of his meetings with *him* when he shoved a needle half the length of his forearm into his arm and watched in sick fascination and glee as the veins turned a bright ice blue.
Or: Mori wants to meet Atsushi, the boy his demon prodigy has taken under his wing.
Dazai refuses to let that man taint another child.
Chuuya just wanted to have a normal Wednesday afternoon.

Dragging himself down the hallways, pulling the limp leg behind him as he moved as quickly as he could, it finally caught up to him. The exhaustion. That bone-deep weariness he's been carrying on his shoulders since he was nothing but a young teenager wanting a painless and efficient way to die. And isn't that ironic? For someone who despises pain like Dazai, he really likes to put himself in some of the most dangerous roles of his plans. But this time, as he ignored the blood trailing behind him and practically threw himself against a wall, he couldn't think of anything but the pain. The simple pain he's felt so many times before was suddenly too much. It was all too much. He went into this knowing what it could lead to, but does that mean he had to be okay with it?
Or: What if Dazai doesn't actually have a plan? What if he genuinely is in too much pain at this point?

Summary
Chuuya doesn't know how else to describe how he's feeling. He doesn't know how to put into words the pain that was sharp and is now just a dull reminder of everything wrong in his life. He can't let himself love Dazai again, not now, but he can trust him. Trust that Dazai knows how he feels without having to voice it out loud. Trust that Dazai can understand, even if this particular brand of exhaustion isn't what he feels. Trust that Dazai won't leave him alone to wallow in this feeling any longer. Because he can't. He cannot be alone in this anymore. It's eating him alive. It's killing him.
Or: Chuuya is falling apart at the seams, and Dazai is the only one to try and pick up the pieces.

‘Fyodor’ walked around the elevator, examining the pair from top to bottom. It was silent for a moment as they all just stood there in a stalemate. After a bit, ‘Fyodor’ smirked in amusement.
“Looks like the two of you have grown rather close since we all left the cell, huh?” he laughed and sauntered over to whisper in Sigma’s ear. “I didn’t realize you had the capability to get this close to someone. I mean, when I created you, I certainly didn’t write you this way…”
“That’s just too bad for you,” ‘Fyodor’ shook his head in feigned remorse. “It really is a shame that he’s just going to leave you as soon as his “precious” Chuuya shows up. And then where will that leave you? All alone… but that’s nothing new for you, is it?”

Summary
“The pups were over today?” He asks sweetly, curling around Dazai’s back and holding him close once he’s gotten in the nest, careful not to destroy any of his lover’s hard work.
“Mm… yeah… they brought me a new blanket.”
There’s a quiet sense of joy in Dazai’s tone that Chuuya easily picks up on. He wants his mate to always sound like this, to always be happy and content with his life and the people in it. The Dazai that Chuuya knew when they were teenagers didn’t let himself feel happy like this, let alone even really know what happiness felt like in the first place. Leaving the Port Mafia was really good for him, even if it took Chuuya too long to realize that. The Agency is a healthy environment filled with love and acceptance, something Dazai has always needed and never had in the Mafia.
“We’ll have to treat them to something as thanks."
Or: Chuuya has had a long day and he just wants to cuddle his mate.

He is not to be taken lightly, and can do more damage with the excuse of being helpful than he could outright wishing to harm. There is no telling what he wants out of this meeting. You will not be going alone, Atsushi."

"Mori-san, I know better than that."
Or: Mori wants to get to Dazai through Atsushi. He’ll get to Atsushi over Dazai’s dead body. The rest of the ADA and Chuuya won’t let it get that far.
