But as the Inquisitor, she was experiencing the finery her older siblings would have enjoyed. To her, the most important thing she owned at Skyhold were four dresses, each which shared a special moment with the Ambassador. Though when it's finally time to leave Skyhold, she gained one more important outfit.

This story will be based mostly during the events of the Inquisition, without touching too much on in-game quests and as such, it will not quite be a literal retelling of the game story line.
Expect a generous sprinkling of world-building, in particular the Ostwick Circle, and a cast of well-developed characters.
Told from the POV of my Inquisitor Loryen, a musician whose soft and kind nature is at odds with the demands of the Inquisition, and of our beloved Commander Cullen - without a doubt my favorite DA character to write - who discovers he doesn't have to punish himself forever for the errors of his past.
PLEASE NOTE THAT AS OF 2025, THIS FIC IS NOT ABANDONED, JUST PAUSED. Currently revising the already written but not yet published chapters, in the hope I can resume updates more regularly soon.

Summary

Tensions were already astronomical between mages and templars but a devastating explosion destroys the Chantry's efforts to foster peace between the roaring factions, and the world of Thedas is in chaos. Sole survivor Evelyn awakens from the tragedy with a painful mark on her left hand glowing as sickly green as the cataclysmic hole in the sky. She's given the choice: help or die. Cullen Rutherford, a former Knight-Captain of the Templar Order and now commander of the Inquisition's armed forces, witnesses the devastation wrought by the explosion at the Conclave and is immediately suspicious of the woman who crawled out of the wreckage seemingly unharmed and in possession of a mysterious (and deadly) magic. When she agrees to support the Inquisition as a symbol of hope for the world, he is both surprised and in awe of her commitment. As they work to restore order, a new evil surfaces, testing the limits of their faith in each other and in themselves.

A collection of oneshots, based on prompts, about my Inquisitor Loryen Trevelyan, who is the main character of my ongoing multi-chaptered fic 'Like A Violin's Bow' .
The stories included here are my way of expanding on headcanons I have created as part of her character development/my world building for her. They can be read as standalone fics, or as companion stories to the longform (please note they most likely will contain spoilers).
For ease of reference, the notes at the start of each chapter will explain when it takes place within Loryen's timeline.
As of 2025, this is marked as complete as there will be no further additions to this, in order to give me the time and space to complete my two WIP projects about Loryen and Cullen.
