He parted my curls in a long stroke, before returning to the roots.

With sweat and river damp still in his hair, he looked somehow unprotected, a freshly shelled insect still gleaming and soft. Red scratches were visible above the neckline of his shirt: proof of his own distress, or perhaps of Starling’s approval. Or Kettricken’s? What a strange thought. Strange indeed. Stranger still for Fitz, who sullenly stared at the tent’s peak, as if that murky dark was more acceptable than the one behind his eyelids. I supposed the latter, or something like it, was where he had last seen Molly leave him.

Matter-of-factly I took Fitz's chin in my hand. He let me move his face this way and that, inspecting every angle. I recalled his words from earlier, and how wrong he had been. I traced the vein of white in his hair and then, giving in to sudden impulse, kissed the spot where it grew from his crown.
“You’re not ruined,” I told him. Emboldened, I kissed the scar across his cheek, and then the bridge of his nose. “Your scars are beautiful.”
I do not know what possessed me to say such a thing, or what possessed me afterward as I laid my lips upon his. I kissed him gently, and then when I saw his hopeful, bewildered expression I kissed him again. I heard him make a small noise and felt his hand settle, ever so lightly, on my hip. Nighteyes gamboled joyfully somewhere nearby. A cold drop of water tumbled from Fitz’s hair to my lips.

A collection of deleted, extended, and altered Fitz & the Fool scenes from Assassin's Quest all the way up to Assassin's Fate. What kept me sane as I finished this amazing series. Canon compliant to the overall plot of the books, but highly inaccurate as I didn't reread as I wrote this. Some small divergences from canon are intentional, others are my own mistakes!

One desperately seeking out the thrill of abandoned places once finally out of his strict mother's sight- others following along with their own motivations. To get away from home. To seek invisible approval. Convinced by his own loyalty. Shockingly, a vengeful spirit reins over the abandoned carnival after a fatal incident years back involving a colleague and friend, who now is target for revenge. Even if he hasn't returned since the place shut down. And now with these kids stumbling into the area unknowingly- have begun to be wrapped up in unsavory layers of whatever this place holds.

What if, upon the birth of Prince Dutiful, FitzChivalry decided to go back to Buckkeep to take back his rightful place as assassin, political advisor to the Queen, apprentice to Chade, and teacher to the king-in-waiting? A shadow never seen in the castle, but always protecting the Farseer line he swore to serve all those years ago.
The political landscape will stay close to the Tawny Man trilogy. After Assassin's Quest, we eliminate the last chapter and start again from the end of the penultimate one.
Warning: Spoiler alert for the Tawny Man trilogy. Expect divergences in character relationships, potential original characters (OCs) if needed, and the absence of certain canon characters (Hap being the first one to go).
