This is the story of Luz Noceda, a puppet who embarks on the difficult journey of life in a world populated by fairies, tricksters, talking animals, shape-shifting creatures and unspeakably dangerous sea monsters, in the hope that perhaps, one day, she will be able to become a real girl.
This is a rewrite of my first story on AO3, "The adventures of Luz Noceda: story of a wooden girl," which I decided to bring back three years after finishing it. For anyone who doesn't know, it's the story of Pinocchio, but with Luz as the protagonist, enriched with new story arcs, moments of personal growth, Lumity (obviously, we want Lumity), and a lot of other really nice details. The original story ran for a whopping 218 chapters, so this rewrite promises to be even better. Happy reading!

Alador's hair was dingy and heavily grayed, age lines were prominent. He was dark-eyed and haggard and yet far from unattractive. Tall with broad shoulders, strong jawline, prominent cheekbones, angular Roman nose; like ancient statuary. Upon first meeting him, his bright gold eyes struck me as malevolent. His demeanor solemn and gentle, they were unnatural but flattering; a tame wolf’s.
“I came off all wrong,” I apologized. “You’re very handsome.”
“Oh.” He blushed; cheeks and nose and forehead an unbelievable dark red. His embarrassment was visible, though my lip-curled smile and half stifled laugh brought him a grin. “Sorry! I… I’m… Not used to hearing that.”

I was struck with an overwhelmingly sickly feeling in my stomach.
