UPDATE: November 2025:
So some things changed! This work used to be called, "The Mouse Trap". I liked this idea, it was something I played with a lot, but things got scattered. I wanted to kind of re-work the idea. However, I don't want to delete this. So this is my first spin at what would grow into what is now known as, "The Mouse Trap", a different fic I feel a little more steady in writing. I also really liked the title and wanted to give it new life.
I am not planning on returning to this fic, so it has been marked as complete. Unless someone specifically asks me to finish it.
Synopsis:
Someone, somewhere, is letting magical creatures loose in to the streets of Chicago. Set somewhere Dead Beat and Blood Rites, Charlie works at the doggy daycare that Dresden occaisionally drops off his new dog, Mouse. When an attack at the daycare sets Charlie into motion, she must choose between closing their eyes or facing the nightmare at Chicagos' doorstep. It doesn't help that Dresden happens to be so damn tall.
Will stay pretty close to canon but may veer off when it comes to monster descriptions. Charlie uses she/they pronouns.
