Dorothy Prewett, daughter of Molly Weasley's older brother, is struggling after the war ended, her having suffered through many losses and experienced horrible things.
While dealing with her father's affairs in the Ministry after he died abruptly in the war, Dorothy is unceremoniously involved in an experiment gone wrong in the Department of Mysteries, which winds her up decades in the past, in 1943.
Set on not changing the timeline, she finds refuge with the current Prewett family of that time, lying about her situation to convince them to take care of her. But when she is forced to attend Hogwarts and meets a certain young Dark Lord, her resolve to not change the past dwindles.
(Or: Dorothy Prewett becomes more and more unhinged as war-PTSD, unyielding stress, and a certain charming young man begin to wear down on her rationality.)

Often unpredictable and even unbelievable at times, it requires one to put aside past prejudices in favour of new beginnings.
