Summary
Referencing "The End of Time Part Two" and "The Caves of Androzani": someone/something has changed history: the Fifth Doctor hasn't escaped the gunrunners (they torture him to death) and thus doesn't save Peri. The Tenth Doctor, realizing that his own incarnation is endangered and also aware that in his own time he is dying anyway, breaks the rules by going back in his own timeline to restore his original history. It is the Tenth Doctor who narrates this tale. Whump! Although correcting the changed history does not alter the fact that both the Tenth and Fifth Doctors die on the day(s) this story takes place, as they did in the original history, neither death is portrayed here. The Fifth Doctor's potential (different) death, in the new history, is referred to but not portrayed directly.

Summary
Inspired after watching a video more about the last Fifth Doctor serial, Tintin becomes lethally poisoned during an escape on the Karaboudjan from where he was brought to after being kidnapped. Events of the film transpire almost as usual as the effects quickly sink in, and Sakharine's realisation at this revolving around the knowledge and possession of the scrolls only just makes it easier to use the simple incident to his advantage. Of course, simultaneously, the scrolls aren't the only thing on his mind, but the reporter doesn't need to know more about that, does he? He's far too busy suffering ill effects whilst determined to resolve such a mystery, after all.
