Bucky ran into his ghosts all the time.
They crept up on him in his nightmares, oh yes, but the faces of mere passersby would become his victims. Simply walking along the street, trying to get some fresh air, would be a cause for anxiety, a chance for the trauma to bubble up again. The list of his crimes went on and on. It was even scarier because now, people seemed to love him. His victims would walk right up to him and thank him for his service, and he would fight the need to flee the hallucination.
The faces of people he’d taken the lives of would never leave him alone. He knew that.

The whole world seems to freeze as the shadow’s head tilts. It lifts its hand slowly, pointing a finger at Pearl, and then draws it diagonally across its body. A rip appears and splits across his body. Dark, voidic tentacles erupt from the rip, grab hold of Pearl and yank her in. The rip closes behind her.

Upon returning to MCU 616, Wanda slowly tries to pick up the pieces from the mess her corrupted self made previously, reunites with a few old friends and is eventually able to make some new ones. Thoroughly a fix-it fic!
(This will be an EXTREMELY minor crossover in the end. Figured I would mention this so no one is disappointed/annoyed! Wanda does not stay outside of her universe for very long. She returns to 616 in ch5.)
