“I think you would look like one of those Disney princes.”
Ilya’s fingers started twirling the long strands carefully around his fingers.
He sighed. His voice was softer now. More pensive. “I did have long hair once.”
Shane peeked open one eye, the drowsiness making him look so sweet and docile.
“Really?”
Ilya smiled wistfully, “Mmhm. I was bullied for it. Called names, slurs."
Golden brown eyes opened, a little furrow between Shane’s eyebrows had the Russian man gently caressing his husband’s cheek.
“I’m sorry I didn't mean to bring up any negative memories.”
Ilya skimmed a finger over the bottom lip before leaning forward to kiss it softly.
He murmured softly against those plush lips he loved so much. “They don’t hurt anymore moya lyubov. Not when I have you in my arms.”

Shane Hollander's parents send him to a mental health facility in attempts to help him with his eating disorder. Betrayed and upset, he expects this experience to be nothing but a waste of time. He never expected to actually care about the other residents, especially not four-time attendee of Centaur Haven, Ilya Rozanov. As Shane and Ilya grow closer, Shane must come to terms with the fact that love is not a magic cure, and recovery isn't easy.

“Fuck that,” he manages, almost succeeding in keeping his tone even. He couldn’t care less about what he was doing before, not when his gorgeous husband is two inches away from where he needs him most.
“No, no. It seemed so important a minute ago. Go on, котёнок, pick it up.”
With a display of self control that could rival a military man’s, Shane reaches over and gingerly picks up the book, holding it open to the page he had left off on. He says nothing, waiting for Ilya’s next command. The heat in his abdomen turns over on itself, spreading further south.
“Good boy,” Ilya growls out and presses a lingering kiss to the inside of his bare thigh. Shane’s chest glows at the praise. “Now read. You will hardly know I am here.”
That very quickly proves to be a lie.
