He doesn't know what kind of instinct was piqued by the news report, what part of his brain locked onto what was being said before he consciously processed the words. Some part of him that has been primed for years to react to the possiblity that someone he knows is going to die. Because it just keeps fucking happening. No matter how hard he tries, the world seems to keep taking. So sue him, he's primed to react to it. Constantly waiting for the next time it happens, in the hope that this will the time he can stop it. Maybe he's never really recovered from getting the news that John wasn't coming home. Maybe he's always gonna be the kid.

Summary
The summer before college, Mike and Will move into a tiny studio together, ready to start their next chapter — only to discover their across-the-street neighbor has a very public, very active sex life.
