Summary
The first bi-yearly Extermination Day has ended in utter disaster, and now Lute must live with the consequences of her and Adam's hubris. At least, until she learns that Lilith can perform magic related to time travel. Deciding to take a leap of faith, Lute sends her memories of everything up until a month after the failed extermination BACK to the past. She cannot undo the events of the original timeline, and she has only one shot at creating a new divergent one. The question is... will she succeed? And even if she avoids the attack on the Hotel... what other forces are at work between Heaven and Hell that could still threaten Lute's efforts to save the man she loves?

Summary
The first Early Extermination ended in utter disaster. Even worse, Adam has found himself reborn in Hell as a sinner, and not only is he nowhere near Pentagram City, and thus unable to call for help at the Heaven Embassy, his sinner form is nowhere near as strong as he was as a mortal man on Earth or as an angel in Heaven. Humility is not Adam's greatest virtue, but if he wants to get back to Heaven, he's gonna have to learn it if he wants to avoid getting on the bad side of anyone who can now overpower him... which is pretty much everyone around him, including his estranged firstborn son, Cain, who currently works as a truck driver in Hell.
Oh, and his bitch of an ex-wife, Lilith, is plotting with Satan to eventually remove Lucifer from power, kill Adam's surviving friends and family up in Heaven, and then take over the universe or something. If Adam wants to have a Heaven to go back to, he's gonna need to work together with his estranged son, find and help rescue other exorcists-reborn-as-sinners throughout Hell, and work with the diabetes-inducing cinnamon roll that is Charlie Morningstar and her girlfriend Vaggie, the last people he ever wants to see.
Meanwhile, Lute deals with personal drama.

Wayne Manor’s door hinges are too well oiled to creak, but the sound of a knob turning, the sense of air moving through the room, is enough to have Selina sitting up and shifting to guard Bruce with her body. A little strip of light colors the floor, and then, before she can say anything, a figure steps in.
It’s Robin. Selina blinks at him and he glares back. Robin, in pinstriped pajamas. He’s… eleven, she thinks. Maybe twelve. As close as she and Bruce have become, the details of his ward have remained unspoken, though admittedly Selina has been intentional in allowing that boundary herself. She forgets, sometimes, that Bruce has a son.
Now, though… Christ, Selina wonders if there’s ever been a child so small.
