Come to think of it, in their own eccentric way, everyone was going through it. Even Dante who’s proverbs started sounding like department store suburban mom ‘live, laugh, love’ wall decor quotes. Because Felix hasn’t been acting normally ever since the vodka incident and the fingers all point to Waru’s direction.

Summary
If he thinks about things too deeply, then his lips wobble and tears bead at his eyes. Then Rick would sigh and roll his eyes, as if reluctant to tend to his emotional state. It's not his grandfather's fault—Morty's just a bit much, almost all the time. Over time, he's gotten better at not feeling what he does in that very moment, but not feeling something isn't the same as hiding it. Once the lights turn off, once the doors close and the moon cements itself in the night sky, he's all on his own and worse off for it.
He ruined lives. He ended lives.
And he needed no weapon to do as much.
Perfect Morty may have died in a freak accident, but he seemed like the luckiest Morty he came across so far.
(Or: When Morty faces the yawning gaping maw in his chest and asks it why such a pitiful thing such as himself is allowed to exist, he doesn't get an answer. No, instead he gets a universe that wants to fold in itself and people who will be damned if they let him remove himself from their lives.)

He should be pleading to his non-denominational Christian god to wake him up, he should shudder and turn away as he watches his mother wail with an intensity that sends her careening over the oak-wood surface of his final resting place, kissing the plaque and leaving a smear of bile and blood from bitten lips. Instead, Morty steps forward and revels in the screaming and crying, his hand brushing along the casket tenderly, wondering if the Morty inside knew how lucky he was to have this.
or; morty starts having weirdly realistic dreams after the events of s9e10, and by the time he realises how much he isn't supposed to like being dead, he's halfway there

“That was crazy! That was so cool!” Yuji grabs Okkotsu’s shirt, levering himself to his knees so they’re both gripping each other, knelt in the river the rain’s made of the road. The train rattles and screams overhead and over the noise, he shouts: “We fought a ghost, Okkotsu! We’re like… Ghostbusters!”
“What?!”
“We just beat up a ghost! That’s so cool!”
“No! What?! That—that’s not remotely what happened!” Okkotsu is so outraged he seems to have forgotten to be scared about his personal poltergeist eating a local ghost and almost killing his underclassman. The final car of the freight train finishes tearing past and into the rain and comparative silence, Okkotsu shouts, “You don’t get it, Itadori! I’m going to get you killed!”
Yuji blinks.
“No, you’re not.” He points at himself. “I’m too tough? Remember?”
AKA: The new generation of jujutsu monsters grew up feral and fighting curses together in Sendai. I'm sure this will have no major ramifications for the world as a whole.
