“Which do you think makes you feel most loved?”
Eddie thought for a long moment. Too long, maybe. Then he shrugged, “Honestly, Buck? I have no idea.”
Buck’s brows pinched up. “What do you mean? When have you felt the most loved?”
“Don’t make a big thing of this, Buck. Promise?”
Buck made a show of crossing his heart, brows still raised curiously.
“I’m not sure I’ve ever… really felt loved in a relationship? I’m not convinced that I know what makes me feel loved…”
OR -
After finding out that Eddie doesn't know what his love language is, Buck sets about finding out for him. He begins a five week experiment, one for each love language, to figure out which will make Eddie feel the most loved.

The blond kid’s defensiveness immediately hardened into a sneer. He visibly straightened up, puffing out his chest in a subtle shift that made him seem even taller, a clear display of masculine posturing. "Oh, yeah? Didn't see your name on it. Is this your rock? Your blade of grass? Did you pee on the trees to mark your territory?"
The sarcasm grated on Eddie's last nerve. "Some of us come here for peace and quiet. Not to listen to... whatever that noise was."
"It's called music," the kid shot back, his voice dripping with condescension. He took a deliberate step forward, closing the distance between them and invading Eddie's personal space. It was a clear challenge. "You should try it sometime. Might loosen you up." He smirked. "Or is that against the rules in your special, secret clubhouse?"

But sitting here, on this government-issue bus hurtling toward a future he couldn’t even begin to imagine, all he could feel was the crushing weight of his own bravado. He had led them here. He had pushed the door open. If this was a mistake—the biggest, most catastrophic mistake of their young lives—it was his.

Summary
A drunk and tired Eddie at a 118 party, who is sprawled over the couch suddenly tells Chimney: “I’m gonna ask him to marry me,” while giving Buck the biggest hearteyes.
Importantly, they are not together at this point, but Chimney assumes the secret that he's been let in on is that they secretly have been for a long while now and this is an actual serious plan Eddie has. Eddie forgets ever saying any of this, Chimney does not. This causes many problems, but maybe solves them too.
