    Fate is fair.
After all, everyone receives a lifetime worth of time.
    But fate is also cruel.

For some reason it had decided to give everyone a timer on their wrist.
    It was a reminder.
From the moment of birth to the moment of death it was counting.

So long until it would hit 00:00:00.
Many hated their counters, calling them unfair.
    Many found them comforting.

Tim's parents ignored them with a passion.
To Tim it was simply data, to be analysed, stored and eventually acted on.

    So Tim thought.

    ***

AU where everyone receives a timer counting down until their death because why not and I felt edgy.

    Summary

Tim meets a new boy who has no idea who he is. Ideal friendship material for a rich boy like Tim. Something about the boy’s nonchalant attitude and half-dead appearance draws Tim towards him.

On the other hand, Danny is shoved into this dumpster fire of a city by Vlad. Of course, Vlad is doing this to help Danny, but that doesn’t mean he has to be happy about it. At least he gets a break from ghost hunting… right?

DISCLAIMER: I have little knowledge of the Batfamily minus what I have learned from fics and YT so sorry if the personalities are wrong or whatever. Also this might be kinda rushed because it’s hard for me not to rush it. I’ll probably finish this but no promises.

    Summary

There is occasionally a certain point one reaches during the attempt to attain a goal where one decides that the goal is just not worth it.

Unfortunately, this also often coincides with being at a point in the attainment of that goal where it’s too damn late and you’re just gonna have to suck it up, buttercup, and get your shit together and do it anyway.

Tim is pretty sure this shit is absolutely not worth it, but it’s too late now and even if it wasn’t, Mama ain’t raise no fuckin’ quitter.

    Or:

Tim’s quest to bring Bruce back from his Time-Travel-Super-Vacation goes horribly topsy-turvey when Ra's takes a more pro-active approach to keeping Tim prisoner, and he ends up in an alternate universe where he never existed, and everybody is disorientingly well-adjusted and weirdly obsessed with his “wellness”, whatever that means.

    Tim hates mystical artifacts.

    (Alternate universe Better Batfam trope)

“I killed him.” With shaking a hand, Tim pointed at the man breathing unsteadily on the ground. The pool of blood beneath his head was growing larger. “I hit him too hard, I didn’t mean to, it was an accident!” He was rambling, he knew, but this was bad.

“What?” Jason sounded genuinely perplexed, but also angry. Though, Tim supposed in his half-dazed mind, Jason always sounded vaguely angry. “What the fuck are you talking about, Replacement?”

“Bruce,” Tim gasped out. “He’s— he’s gonna hate me. I’m sorry, I’m sorry—”

“Hey!” Jason’s sharp bark snapped Tim back to himself. He was shaking, but Jason’s hand was steady on his shoulder. “Baby bird. Look at me.”

“I killed him!” Tim jerked away from Jason, but the older man held him firmly. “I don’t wanna get kicked out, I can’t go through that again—”

Jason didn’t let him finish. With a swing of his arm and a deafening gunshot, Jason buried a bullet in the man’s head.

“There,” he said, shrugging. “You didn’t kill him. I did.”

    Tim was hyperventilating.

“-Tt-, I believe I understand the game. I shall continue; Never have I ever dyed my hair“

Tim grinned, and watched as Jason took his shot. His own shot still tasted like hand-sanitizer, he sighed.

“You’ve dyed your hair?“, he asked afterwards. He figured the white strand was just a side effect of the pit and not a misguided effort on Jason’s part to appear as an e-boy or something. Who knew? He wasn’t judging either way, dying probably gave him a free-pass, style wise.

(Who was Tim kidding? If that strand was really bleached, he was very much judging.)
