Vox zapped into the hotel, greeting them with one of his TV show host grins and a bow. “Hello, bitches! How are you this hellish morning?”
Vaggie thrusted her spear at him. “What’re you doing here?” She growled.
Vox pushed it away from his screen with a clawed finger. “It’s nice to meet you too! What was your name again?” He tilted his head to the side, tapping his screen in thought. “Vagina? Vegan? V—”
“—Vaggie,” Vaggie corrected, scowling.
“Ah, yes!” Vox exclaimed. “You—”
A squeal interrupted him. “Oh my gosh!” Charlie bounced up to him enthusiastically, grabbing his hand and shaking it vigorously. “It’s really you, Vox! I’m such a big fan! I watch all of your shows! Are you here to get redeemed? Please, tell me you’re here to—”
“—Sorry, princess, but I’m not interested in redemption,” Vox shot her down immediately

And when there was no response, only silence, Vincent felt himself losing it.
“So you're gonna keep silent like some idiot?”
Again, no response.
He snorted, “Fine, suit yourself, then! It's not like you ever were anything other than an idiot, after all. Why am I even putting up with you is a fucking mystery in itself. I can't wait to find someone way smarter to replace you. I’ll do it in a fucking jiffy, I promise you this.”
More silence.
Vincent started thinking that maybe, just maybe something was wrong.
But before he could even slightly furrow his brows in concern, he heard a way too calm voice that in no way belonged to his assistant;
“What did you just say to me?”
