The book he was currently holding had multiple sticky notes sticking out, which were quick scribbles he made when he found something that would possibly portray his feelings towards the florist.
He knew that this couldn’t just be for the aesthetics; the petals themselves could hold meanings. In the past hour alone, he learnt about how even the colour of the same kind of flower can change the meaning completely, and he was taking extra care to categorize them right.
He was giving flowers to a florist after all.

Summary
A weight drops onto his shoulder. Narumi’s fingers twitch. The floral scent wafts in the air while he breathes it in, glancing down to see that Bowl-Cut has most certainly, definitely, unmistakably rested his head onto his shoulder. He should be disgusted, no, repulsed by the action, but strangely enough, Narumi doesn’t find the proximity to be as irksome as he had thought it would be. Not at all. In fact, his heart races at the sudden, novel contact.
“Lend me your shoulder for a bit, would ya,” Hoshina murmurs.
“I’m charging you. Five-hundred yen per minute,” Narumi mutters, swallowing.
After the final battle, Narumi Gen has wasted zero time training for the next new threat. With the first division housing the third division at Ariake base, he can't seem to shake off a certain squinty-eyed Vice-Captain. Rival, pain-in-the-ass, nuisance—Narumi wants absolutely nothing to do with Hoshina Soshiro. But it's hard to avoid him... especially when Hoshina stalks him to his room and challenges him to a bet.
Narumi finds that he can never resist the bait. Because no matter what, Hoshina always seems to draw him in.

“Minoura! Where’s my crime scene? Did they really think a ghost was stealing their stuff? Bah, people are so stupid, what would a ghost do with jewelry?”
“They think a ghost is the culprit?” Poe wonders, frowning.
“Stupid,” Ranpo agrees.
“Did you both get it all out of your systems?” Minoura sighs, “let’s talk inside. Just– the wife is a little shaken with everything that’s going on, so.”
“Of course, we won’t comment on how foolish that conclusion was,” Poe nods solemnly, “people can be excused some absurdities in the throes of emotion, I believe.”
“No promises,” Ranpo pushes past them, cheerfully slipping inside.
