Summary
Aizawa Shouta was never going to be a hero. His parents knew it. His teachers knew it. His classmates knew it. So when the boogeyman of the underground asks him to attend UA in order to eventually become a teacher there, all in order to find All Might's successor when the time comes, he goes willingly.
In comes Midoriya Izuku. Small, strong, reckless, and anxious enough to end god. It takes Shouta all of a minute to decide that this is his new kid. Unfortunately, he's also All Might's successor.
Now Shouta has to navigate caring for Izuku, convincing him to give up his shiny new quirk (and possibly his lifeline if the quirkless statistics are anything to go by), training his new protégé, Shinsou Hitoshi, and figuring out the newest group of upstart rogues who are bulldozing their way through the underground.
Fortunately for Shouta, the line between hero and villain has always been blurred.

For three years, Izuku has loved Shinsou Hitoshi. Two and a half of those spent as his best friend, terrified to lose him.
Izuku loved what they had, what they still have, but it all changed when out of nowhere, the most energetic boy in class had his lips on the most lethargic.
It hurt, watching everything he wanted to do with Hitoshi be done by Denki. Every soft touch, lingering gasp and longing look. The late nights they spend together, dates that have them stumbling through the dorm doors looking drunk off one another.
His heart felt like it was being torn to shreds, and no amount of convincing that it would eventually fade, could quell it.

The Stoat cackled, much too elated at confirming the boy’s request, his tea cup fell from his paw, shattered upon impact and spread a mess all over his desk, the HPSC had been rumored to have taken out a Powerful Lawyer with the same Surname just as she had prepared to File a Suit against them that would have spelled Disaster.

Aizawa never planned to get involved—but the scared, scarred boy he finds on patrol won’t leave his mind. What starts as one walk home becomes food, safety, and, slowly, family. Between a loud blonde radio host who insists on being “Uncle Mic” and a small white principal who seems to know everything, Izuku begins to learn what it means to be seen—and safe—for the first time.
