One year, two months, and eight days ago, the United Planet of Melidaan declared an end to their Civil War. Instrumental in creating this peace was Obi-Wan Kenobi, honored member of the Young's fighting force that brokered the treaty between the warring factions, both Melida and Daan, Elder and Young.
In one universe, Qui-Gon Jinn took Obi-Wan Kenobi home.
In others, he didn't. In one, he was taken the day after peace was declared.
Obi-Wan never came home after Melida/Daan. Not really. He left part of himself there, and another part on the forsaken planet he spent the better part of a year on. He was putting himself back together, piece by piece, but it's hard to clean up after you've already shattered.
(AU of Obi-Wan's Padawan years, where he was formally repudiated by Qui-Gon Jinn and then found by Master Fay. Heavy focus on trauma recovery and the aftermath of war and slavery; not Qui-Gon Jinn friendly.)

Bucky woke up with a headache, a mouth that tasted like something had died in it, and hands-down, swear-to-god, the most beautiful man he had ever seen asleep in his lap.
Bucky was also, he realized after a moment, strapped down to a hospital bed with about six different monitors making unsynced, equally piercing, beeps. Beyond that he couldn’t quite see—there was a hideous floral curtain pulled around the bed, and while he could just make out figures moving in the room beyond it, the pattern made his head pound even worse the longer he looked at it.
So. That was concerning.

1861 c.100 s.60 has lived in my head ever since I read it tbh it's one of the best things I've ever read, it manages to pair hilarity and this absolute absurdity with just the utter heartbreaking devistation of a man who just wants to be free to love his child but he's sure (with good reason) he won't be allowed to. The glimpses of Cody in that fic and his determination to take what he can get and love his kid even though he knows it can't possibly work out? Gutting. Breaks my heart every time
That kind of love, against all reason?? Giving what love you can even if you know that to do so will only make the inevitable hurt more?Oh my god, perfection. That idea just kind of lived on in me. I can't stop thinking about it. I always go back to this fic and read it again but i still found myself wondering about what Cody is thinking and and what the hell he thinks of O.W antics, how they got there
Anyway, this was born of that. fic isn't always born from love to canon but let me tell you, this is a love letter to this fic. There's nothing i could possibly improve on. If you are here and haven't read the OG, go read that. This is a poor imitation but i love it too much not to offer anything

Summary
At the ripe age of six months “Obi-Wan Kenobi” leaves Stewjon and his real name behind. He doesn’t know why and for his safety, the Order decides that it is better to keep the truth for him. The same secret is the reason Obi-Wan never becomes a Jedi Padawan and instead is sent to the AgriCorps.
After one too many of his requests for transfer is rejected, Obi-Wan runs away and due to his own naïveté and desperation finds himself on board a pirate ship. He doesn’t think that meeting a Mandalorian bounty hunter who temporarily travels with Ohnaka will change the course of his life forever.
One contraceptive implant failure later, desperate and with no one else to turn to, he returns to AgriCorps.
Fast forward five years and little Boba starts asking questions about his father. Soon, Obi-Wan meets an ex-Mand’alor who finds Boba eerily similar to his allegedly dead son, a certain Jedi Master and his childhood bully, babysits the Chosen One and has Stewjonian nobility popping on his doorstep looking for their missing prince. It's only the beginning of the journey that will make him rediscover his lost history.
All while trying to deal with reappearance of Boba’s father in their lives.
