He knew the feeling, and he knew the look of someone that could do something stupid when they were alone. If news came out that Rozanov got drunk and crashed his car or something, Scott would never forgive himself for not intervening when he could.
Goddammit.
“Look, kid,” Scott said, already regretting the words before they left his mouth. “If you don’t have anyone else and you can’t be alone, wait for me by the player door. I’m always the last to leave.”
Rozanov nodded. “I might wait.”~

Something about his attitude in his definitely-not-attractive-and-distracting Russian accent makes him sound smug, like he knows he’ll get the sale.
He will never get the sale.
Shane Hollander is never getting solar panels installed. Someone should probably tell Ilya, the solar panel salesman.

Something in Yuna’s eyes fractures, like a bird bone under the sole of a shoe. “Your mother is very lucky, then.”
“Yuna,” Ilya says, and he tries very hard to not look at Shane, to not see the unforgiving, enduring hurt in his eyes when he looks over at his mother, so far away from her that he can’t come home, even though he desperately wants to. He looks at Yuna instead, and somehow, even as he braces against the ice-cold concrete and lets the sound of the whistling wind settle in his ears and has been looking at her for a long time now, he finds himself entirely unprepared for familiar Yuna’s eyes will be when she turns her gaze from the distant streetlamp to him. “You’re very lucky too.”
Shane Hollander is a ghost with a comatose body that won't work, unable to move on because his mom won't come visit him. Ilya Rozanov is the only person who can see and hear him, and against all odds, this is still a love story.
