[“Alright,” Frank says, patting the denim of Gerard’s jeans, “Let’s just drive around a while?”
“Uh huh,” Gerard responds, distracted. He’s leaning forward and squinting at a road sign that’s emerging from the dark. Frank rolls his eyes to himself, not unfondly, and removes his hand from Gerard's thigh to start messing with the radio, trying to find a station that’s playing something worth listening to. It’s mostly static, but he thinks he’s found a local oldies station by the time he looks up and realizes Gerard has pulled off the highway and around the back of some rest stop.
“Gee, seriously, where the fuck are we—,” he’s cut off by Gerard’s hand on his chin guiding him into a harsh, bruising kiss. Frank makes a startled noise in the back of his throat, and then melts into it.]
OR
Gerard and Frank avoid talking about their feelings, have a run in with the local police, and resolve nothing.

“It’s kind of a miracle Frank hasn’t been sick since Warped.”
Gerard and Mikey both sigh loudly in unison,
“Well he will now, Toro, what the hell,” Gerard says, crossing his arms and shaking his head.
“You guys are such superstitious idiots,” Ray says, rolling his eyes so hard his mane of hair moves, too, “I swear, it’s all your mom’s creepy fucking dolls. You guys were raised by god damn warlocks or some shit.”
“Warlocks of New Jersey, save that for a band name!” Frank says, giggling again. The others groan at Frank’s nonsensical laughter, used to and fondly annoyed by his typical post-show hyper energy. Gerard can’t help but find him adorable. Ridiculous, sure, but standing there laughing at nothing, reaching up to loosen the red tie from his stage outfit, expression open and unguarded and obviously just so fucking happy to be hanging out with his band, Gerard thinks he’s kind of fucking beautiful. They all relax for a second. That is, until Frank’s laughter devolves into harsh coughing.

“Oh, hey, Gee, what’s up?” Frank asks, nonchalant as hell. It takes Gerard’s brain a second to catch up enough to respond.
“Wanted to check on you,” they explain, “Since you decided to throw yourself around on stage like it was 2004.”
Frank snorts and steps back, gesturing for Gerard to come inside. Gerard steps in and shuts the door behind them.

Frank bangs himself up in Lima. Gerard kindly helps him out, but they get sidetracked...
