It was a realization that hit Giorno hard, very suddenly. Mid sip of some very pricy champagne, Bucciarati came to his mind. With the violent suddenness of a car crash, he can't breathe, can't think. He's staring at the empty space between himself and some wealthy political candidate he was supposed to bribe tonight. The older man is talking, making some joke but Giorno is elsewhere now. Another time, another place. He is in Venice fifteen years ago.
