Mistakes happen. Even to godlike eldritch alien space worms. Unfortunately, when a being that powerful makes a mistake, the consequences tend to be far-reaching. Like, for instance, deleting their own mind and shoving a human consciousness into the control seat.

It was honestly so embarrassing.
What he had done was the human equivalent of somehow losing his eyeballs because he made the mistake of looking down and blink. It was that stupid. In fact, maybe Shen Yuan would have preferred to lose a few eyeballs instead, since he had thousands of them on a good day anyway. But no, oh no, he had to go and die.

John Constantine needs help closing up a Lazarus Pit in Gotham. Danny Phantom can close up Lazarus Pits. This should be a perfectly straightforward arrangement between two people with the same interests in mind- unfortunately, Danny's intentions end up just a tad lost in translation.
Constantine should've known doing a favour for a guy like Batman would be a mistake.
