Summary
“Please, I’m begging you. I’ll do anything. Anything. Just don’t hurt him.”
The blade lets up on Eddie's throat.
“Anything?”
Eddie opens his eyes. Uneasiness creeps up his spine. Sharp, like a jolt of electricity. Petey is staring at Buck now, his hold on Eddie has loosened. And suddenly, Eddie wants nothing more in the world than for Petey to turn his attention back on him.
But Buck's gaze is fixed on Petey. He’s deliberately avoiding looking in Eddie’s direction. Because he knows if he does, he’ll have to betray him.
“Anything,” Buck says. “Please.”
~~
Buck and Eddie are on their way to Greece for their honeymoon when their plane gets hijacked.
And one of the hijackers has a particular fascination with Buck.

Summary
“Unfortunately you are the sixth victim in a string of serial abductions and assaults spanning the Midwest."
Evan Buckley's life is a sequence of hardships and challenges, but every time he manages to fight through and overcome. Being a victim (and survivor) of an assault long before joining the 118 is a part of his past he always intended to keep buried.
It's not as if he remembers it anyways.

Summary
Deft fingers undo two more buttons, pulling his shirt into an exaggerated “v” and confirming the worst. Colorful splotches dot his chest, and if Buck’s memory serves, they won’t be contained to just the upper third of his torso.
“Shit,” he whispers, a prickle of shame creeping up the back of his neck.
Eddie turns his back on the scene with a huff, snatching the cookie tub from Chimney’s suddenly-slack grip.
“Oh my god,” Chim gasps. “He’s back.”
“Who’s back?” Eddie asks, glancing between Hen and Chimney.
“Buck 1.0,” Hen says, a smile in her voice.
“Oh come on, it was one hookup.” It’s a lie, he knows, but telling his friends about Stacy surely isn’t going to help his case right now. “I’m not the kind of guy who acts like an ass on calls and steals fire trucks anymore.”

Summary
Missing Eddie has become a physical ache. Losing him smashed Buck's heart into pieces, and he carries the shrapnel with him wherever he goes.
He takes a deep breath, and then he opens up his messages. There's Eddie, right there, and the 118 group chat, which Eddie is still a part of, even though he shouldn't be. He's in Texas now.
Buck closes the whole app and opens Tinder instead. He has a match before the Jeep's engine has warmed up. He decides to skip breakfast, ignores the hole in his stomach to fill the hole in his chest with some no-strings-attached physical contact.
Half an hour later, he's kneeling on the floor of a stranger's kitchen, hands in his hair and hot thighs clasped around his cheeks. It works. He stops feeling empty. For a while.Or:
Eddie moves to El Paso. Buck spirals out of control quite spectacularly.
