“From space?”

“Is it green?”
“What? No.” Megumi pinches Yuji’s arm. “I’m being serious!"
Or, even from outer space Satoru will adopt those kids. The alien AU only I needed.

The vivid clarity of the world around himself, draped in a dark cloak of night that his enhanced eyes saw through as if it were but a thin sheet; the crisp autumn air tickling the inside of his nostrils with such saturation that it almost felt like he could taste the coming winter on the tip of his tongue. The breeze that came from this altitude tickled his bare skin, and despite its ineffectual chill against his strengthened flesh, goosebumps climbed up his neck from the tactile sensitivity he bore against its breath.
Everything felt so real, realer and fresher than it'd ever been. If that made sense, which it probably didn’t.
His senses then were just so alive that he didn’t think he could recall a time he’d ever been so… aware, of everything.

Or, in a world where Itadori Wasuke never died, Yuji has been working as a firefighter, blissfully unaware of curses. He takes care of his grandfather, helps out around the neighborhood, and saves cats from trees in a quiet corner of Sendai.
Megumi, on the other hand, is tired of the jujutsu world. When he comes across a young man too good to be true, he falls for him. And Megumi is perfectly happy keeping Yuji in the dark about jujutsu to preserve their small slice of normalcy.
However, Kenjaku never planned on letting Sukuna's Vessel live in peace forever. Soon enough, his plans would come together, and no meddling sorcerers were going to stand between him and his tools.

"'Hurt him'?" he asks in reflexive confusion, and then realizes how batting a teenager around like a person-shaped cat toy and pinning him to the street hard enough to crack it probably actually looks to an outside observer.

"Um," he starts awkwardly, and then the kid slips his pin while he's distracted and throws his arms around his neck with a gleeful laugh and a bright grin.

Sukuna wears him like an ill-fitting costume. His fingernails tear, his skin goes sallow, and the teeth in his mouth feel loose and brittle. The more time that passes, the more his body decays from the inside out, containing a curse it was never meant to survive. As a Vessel, he makes a fitting workaround to the Itadori debacle. A band-aid on a bigger problem.The King of Curses is sour about it, more so than he lets on. When he looks in the mirror with Megumi’s face, he sees Itadori Yuuji instead and seethes over ruined opportunity.
