Summary
The Soul has enough of Kris after the events of Chapter 4. After attaining the freedom they seek, they find themselves attracted to one Noelle Holiday, a person who the Soul places their limited trust in to take them in. But just by escaping their cage, have they escaped their Cage? What do other characters involved in the conspiracy think about this attempt to obtain freedom, and how will they react? And why does this Soul seem to have knowledge of a world beyond the one of Deltarune, anyway? Heavily inspired by The Melody of the Heart. (Expect huge divergences in plot and characters beyond the basic premise!)

It wasn’t even inside his head like Mike used to be, instead it felt as though it was emanating from his very own heart and soul.
“Don’t be afraid, I’m not like Mike.” Those words did little to bring him comfort, instead only bringing him a deeper sense of panic as he followed the single red wire down to his chest.“WHAT THE [&!@%] ARE YOU!?”

Following Spamton's failed ascension and a fight with the heroes of Prophecy, Spamton discovers that he's traded one set of strings for another when Kris does as he requested and gives him (a piece of) their Soul.
They say they want to help him be free and get the happy ending they deserve, but who knows. He's been burned by disembodied voices before.

Summary
Kris woke up the next day to see the cage empty. But that was strange, they don't remember putting the soul back in their body. They grabbed their chest to feel it, only to feel a strange coldness instead.
Meanwhile, after something hit the wagon. The soul flew off to find Kris to stop whatever they were doing. But after not finding them, the soul heads to castle town, where somebody had already had opened the door.
