Summary
Monty fumbled slightly, his hair now determined to tangle around anything that touched it. Caught under his nail, wrapped impossibly around another misbegotten hair tie (he yanked it out, forcing down the wince as the strands pulled loose from his aching head), snarled in the teeth of the comb as he fought for a straight part, eyes watering in response to the pain, adding to the angry tears already building.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
This was so stupid.

Summary
Ewen Montagu’s life had settled, somewhat, into a comfortable rhythm after Operation Mincemeat. Bonds that had been frayed were slowly getting stitched back together, the war seemed to finally be leaning in their favour, and he had a desk in a basement that he truly didn’t mind spending his days at.
Everything is fine, until one day he’s forced to leave London after a new recruit starts running his mouth, and doesn’t realize that leaving means becoming no one until he already doesn’t exist.
Maybe he’ll find himself at the bottom of a whiskey bottle.
