On the ground a few feet from the entrance to the crypt is a body.
It’s a completely familiar body. Damon knows every inch of it. He knows where to kiss it to produce glorious moans. He knows what it tastes like.
Except no because Alaric is dead and more than dead; he is the ash in the coffin in there, slowly being taken away by the eddies of air that sneak into the crypt.
It is Alaric. It smells like Alaric. It’s wearing Alaric’s clothing. The clothing he died in and was resurrected in for a final time. Damon falls to his knees and reaches out. Dances his fingers over the small of Alaric’s back.
It can’t be real, it really can’t.

He’d not had the chance before he ran off from home so he takes it now. Walks straight from the mess of it all as soon as he can and into a tattoo parlor. They ask him what he wants. He tries to describe it. He makes shapes with his hands and uses adjectives but in the end he ends up taking a felt tip marker like the ones they hand out to third graders and drawing it on a sheet of borrowed paper.
"Alright. It’s your body, man," the guy says. Shrugging and getting out them black gloves he uses.
Damn right it is. His first one.Fantasy AU but the only thing that's magical is that Tim has tattoos that change on their own.
