Summary
Ghost and Soap get sent on a scouting mission together to recover valuable intel from a hidden hut in the forest. The guards have been dealt with prior, and our boys have to wonder what other defense the other side has to protect this intel if not standing guards. They soon find out the defense is chemically enhanced plants that have a special poison to work against anyone getting too close to the hut.
/Or/
Soap gets angry at flowers, tries to fight them and loses. Which results in him and Ghost getting hit with sex pollen because obviously Ghost had to save him from the flowers and got second hand exposure.

“How do you want me, then?” Ghost asked, looking as though he were bracing himself for something. For what? Soap didn’t know.
“Just on your right side, if ye could. Facing me, head by my table,” Soap directed, sitting down in his own chair and rolling in closer. As Ghost shifted into place, Soap slipped into professional mode. “It’s probably gonna hurt a bit more than your sleeve did, so if you need to tap out at any point just let me know and we’ll take a break.”
Ghost’s eyes flicked up to meet his, looking entirely unimpressed. “It’s a rib tattoo, obviously it’s gonna hurt.”

Summary
Snow whipped around them both in a frenzy. It was all Soap could do to keep putting one foot in front of the other, dragging them both forward as frost nipped at his bones. Wind slammed them from all sides, roaring through the bare trees and covering Soap's footsteps as quickly as he made them. Claw-like branches grabbed at him and Ghost, but he didn't dare stop, no matter how hard they tried to force him back.
Stopping meant death.
And Soap wasn't about to let the man he loved freeze and be left forgotten in no-man's-land.

Trapped in a collapsing blind and battered by days of snow and silence, Soap is fraying at the seams—cold, half-mad, and absolutely convinced his lieutenant is some cocked-up apparition of a man. Along the way he changes his own deodorant and finds out that that gesture means a whole lot more to Simon than he could ever have thought it would. He learns more about his Lieutenant in the next few months than he has in the last nearly five years of working with him, finding out why such a small gesture meant so much to him and getting to know every part of Simon, the good, the scared, and the ugly.

He's almost glad of the low-lighting cast from the bedside lamp as his fingers trace the edge of the bruise across his torso, feeling the ache settled deep within him as he finally sees it. Sees the hurt. The damage. The way his body was broken and put back together by names and faces he can't remember, too unconscious, too delirious to recognise more than blurred shapes in his peripherals.
Ghost had been a sentinel. Every time Soap had blinked awake for long enough to grasp something real, something that goes beyond the edges of his body, Simon had been right there, curled into a chair too small for him, too plastic to be comfortable, surviving on snatches of conversation that Soap forgot.

Ghost is motionless, staring down at John's outstretched hand like he's trying to recall on which page of How to Behave Like a Real Human in Polite Society he’s previously seen the gesture.
Before things can get awkward, John turns the aborted handshake into a jovial, manly sort of punch to Ghost’s shoulder. It's rather like how he imagines it would be to hit an adult moose, both in the physical sensation and in the frisson of anticipated danger it elicits. Gamely, he says, “Truck’s just about set, sir. Glad to be working with you.”
Ghost’s eyes flick up to John’s face, and then higher, to his hair. He frowns.
