Summary
Tails is a hero. Dependable, threatening, responsible. Which makes him an adult in the eyes of many– he’s a war veteran, after all. Fought to take back their world just the same as anyone older than him. He’d manufactured the wispons, and he was expected to wield them and himself against any threat possible.
It didn’t matter that the radio-silence from Sonic and the pressure caused him to run away. He’d returned. He’d grown up. He had to.
It just meant that he had to grow faster. So he did, and he will– Tails is excellent at changing himself for the sake of others. It’s what he grew up doing, and it’s what he’ll keep doing.
So it starts with a favour.

Summary
All stories had to have happy endings. It just wasn't satisfying without one, right?
But then, they suppose, the endings were always decided by the person telling the story. The history writers always made it sound however they wanted, that's just how life works. Sonic always won, and Sonic always loved happy endings.
Ergo, this story could not have a happy ending.

Summary
The task is so easy that he almost feels sceptical- like there’s something more calculated at play here- and Tails can’t tell if that’s a genuine gut feeling or his anxiety eating at his head again.
Just in case, he grips the container harder, and starts to sprint again as he prepares to fly back home.
It seems, though, that it’s just his luck for something to go wrong.

Summary
Fran didn't come to greet him. Something was off. Sam carefully drew his sword and readied his ears for any sign of an intruder. It took Sam a minute before he realized the nearly silent hisses and puffs he'd attributed to the machines were ever so slightly irregular. Was it a mob? Had there been some cave-in? He pulled out his communicator and checked the security logs, but there was nothing. No out of protocol action or signal had been detected until... suddenly there was a ping. Front Door opened twice today. Is this intentional? the screen suddenly read. Someone else had been here. Recently. He really needed to reinstall those cameras. But still... either they knew how to hack into his security system or... no...
Sam sheathed his sword and dashed quickly towards the noise. Only once he'd dropped down to the lower level could he positively identify the sound, and while Sam knew he was safe, the truth didn't bring him any real relief. Sam rushed to the wall and let his fingers trace along the wall feeling for any sign of where he'd known a small nook in the wall had been. One he'd hidden in himself, not too long ago.
"Tommy! Tommy, where are you?"
