Summary
Your mother and guardian say you can’t participate in extracurriculars until you prove you’re capable of taking care of all your regular work on your own, without any assistance or reminders. That means completing homework and chores with enough free time to reasonably fit a full, separate activity.
You’ve started gamifying it to motivate yourself, imagining the shortcuts you take from class as a speedrun strat, no-clipping through seedy alleyways and fluttering over hedge barriers.
Once you arrive home, you make quick work of your chores, take a shower, do your homework, and eat dinner. You think you’re on the verge of getting a new best time. Maybe you can ask your parents to enroll you in a language class, or fencing, or martial arts, or e-sports! That’d be such an epic win. But until you can get your average daily block of free time up to three hours, you’re expected to stay home and “help the family.” Argh.
At least you have sweet, sweet Vapor games to keep you company…

Summary
Simon is newly graduated on the government's dime, recovering mentally and physically from the Navy submarine accident that took his arm and scarred his face, and equal parts excited and nervous for his first year teaching. Somehow, after everything he's done, he gets to be the one kids ask questions and trust to give the right answer. The paycheck and sense of purpose more than make up for how alone he is.
Ryland Grace has two best friends who love and care for him, the job of his dreams, a boss he loves, and a suspiciously high paycheck for a middle school science teacher. So why is he still so lonely?
A tour of the building, matching scars, and a fragile comraderie, and suddenly their lives are far more intertwined than either is fully comfortable with.
Their friends and colleagues are almost as invested in their budding relationship as the nerdy middle schoolers are in shipping their favorite teachers.

Summary
After ramming the sub straight into the Light, Simon wakes up on a strange spaceship with no memory of how he got there. The state of the Hail Mary -spacious, clean, bright and comfortable- can only lead to one conclusion: Simon has somehow been picked up by one of the highest-ranking leaders of the C.O.I.
Luckily, Dr. Grace doesn't seem to recognize him, buying Simon enough time to hatch yet another desperate plan for survival before his identity is discovered. In the meantime, Simon tries his best to stay in the man's good graces (no pun intended), but he's hardly known for his charming personality.
Both of them are in for a bumpy ride.

Summary
The C.O.I. puts the nosiest new prisoner next to his cell, and the man sure looks like fresh meat: looks funny; talks funny; walks funny; has zero survival instincts; and looks soft. He smells of privilege and luxury nobody has access to anymore in a dead solar system.
It pisses Simon off. Pisses him off that he feels the need to try to protect this man. Pisses him off that looking at him causes déjà vu. It’s not his responsibility and shouldn’t involve him.
So why is he getting involved?
