Arthur could see his father glaring down - face red and eyes narrowed as he looked at Merlin with clear distaste.
"Once this over, sorcerer...I’ll burn you."
"You’ve already tried that," Merlin’s voice answered and Arthur had to bite his fist to keep from making any noise. “You need to accept you can’t kill me… Hand me that blanket, please.”
“I’m sure there must be some method… Beheading?”
“No, we tried that.”
“Hanging?”
“I just sort of... Swung there, remember?”
There was another pause.
“I should have made you keep that dragon below the castle so I could feed you to it.”
“Kilgharrah? He won’t eat me, but if you want to torture me than making me listen to his nonsense for an hour might do it.” Merlin said and there was a soft sigh from the other end of the room. “I’m glad you agreed to help me though. Usually I have to do the grunt work of saving Arthur myself.”
“I can’t wait to kill you.”
Or
Uther finds out about Merlin’s magic, but can’t seem to kill him. Merlin is just trying to protect Arthur. They become a begrudgingly effective duo. Arthur doesn't understand why they think he isn't noticing this.

Mel blinks. He certainly doesn’t look like he’s having a stroke.
“Frank, why would we move in together?”
“I thought it might be nice,” he shrugs here, acting nonchalant even though Mel can see the tension in his jaw. “To take that next step in our relationship.”
“Frank, what are you talking about? We’re not in a relationship?”
At this, Frank’s frown deepens before widening into a frustrated half smile. “Uh, yes we are? We’ve been dating for nine months?”

Summary
Jake lost a piece of himself when he was told he'd never be able to walk again, an unfortunate hazard of the job. But when he was laying there in the hospital, he would dream of the stories his brother told him about Pandora. He'd have these recurring dreams of flying, feeling free. He wanted to feel that freedom again, and the Avatar Program could provide that.
It's why when he arrived on the indigenous moon he wasn't looking to be some counterspy for Colonel Miles Quaritch, and he certainly wasn't looking for a permanent place among the Na'vi. Jake only wanted to be free. He just never expected his training with the Omaticaya hunter Tsu'tey to alter the course of what he desired.

“Danny, Danny,” Stiles knocked on the table, as if the two sickening lovebirds weren’t waiting for the right time to speak. “Make him say yes.”
Without a single haste, Danny blinked, offering them dual bewildered expressions, “To? We caught like a third of that.”
Stiles couldn’t help the frustrated gape, even knowing he looked like a dying goldfish, “You were sitting right here.”
“We don’t speak Stilinski.”
And, yet Jackson understood him perfectly, a thought he filed for a later date. The three of them waited for his answer: Danny because he actually seemed curious, Jackson because he knew Stiles would be too embarrassed to spew it all again, and Ethan because he drank Stiles’s mortification like Gatorade.
Stiles finally admitted on a huff, “I need a fake boyfriend for two days.”
When Stiles' best friend slash hopeful-to-be-boyfriend, assumes he's dating the most aggravating human on their Cheerleading team, he has no choice but to play along. All's fair in love and jealousy, right?
